Brethren, developers, forum lurkers alike, greetings from the Steam universe. I am over there helping sell this game, for real for real. There is a lot going on on these forums, but the steam forums SEEM dead. However, I believe more positive voices are needed there and some people are on the fence and can be convinced to buy/stay by appropriate (and true!) answers to their questions. There are plenty of eyes on those posts, even if not many people are posting.
That's all well and good, but you guys gotta hold it down, too. Like that blue horse grey player bug, you need to be able to fix that stuff hotfix level, not every two weeks. We are leading up to release, and things like that are just unacceptable.
I also think that if there is a farm the GY to protest rep changes thing going on, that is extremely misguided! However, it does bring to mind an interesting point. How come you can LOSE rep by engaging in 'bad' pvp, but you can't gain rep by engaging in 'good' pvp. I mean, I am in duli atm and say what you want about Koto but those boys are in the GY making sure noobs can farm in peace. The grave yard is sooo over-crowed that you can't make any money there, but they are there. Sure, such a system does lend itself to exploitation by people killing their alts/friends, but just some minor level of policing (and coming down hard) of logs should be able to sus it out, or at least flag 'strange occurrences.' For instance, if killing blues is -rep, why is killing greys not +rep? Killing reds should be ++ rep. Killing people with low rep should also give you + rep, which does create a conundrum of... I have lo rep, but I'm here to repent and help defend you guys in the GY for awhile (for instance.) However, all you people who can use communication can certainly try that, and depending on how you got that low rep, people may or may not buy it and 'work together' with you! Maybe make 'bad' people local grey in territories they have below a certain level of rep.
I also still believe that low rep should only make it so that priests won't res you and not make you KoS, at least up until your standing gets well below 0.
Griefers got the time to run parcels so they can properly grief. It takes time to burn off MCs, but griefers can be like hehe this morning I'll run parcels while nothing is going on, then tonight... I GRIEF!! Shout out to the anon duli griefer (who people prol know!) who said, yea 33 rep is like one night for me. That's also kind of an exploit. It, at the very least, has nothing to do with building your actual reputation in a dynamic, sandboxy way.
But yeah, things like the blue horse bug, why should people take standing loss to kill a horse of someone who attacked them? So that they can run parcels, oh baby.
HOLD ME DOWN. Don't let positive energy go to waste... TELEPORTS AWAY.
