Keeping population

This question is the players killers, and people who choose to just murder. This is a game, so why not make it fun for other people other than yourself? You want to keep killing them right? You want to keep taking their stuff and listening to them cry? You want them to run into town crying BLAH BLAH killed me, I need help, PLEASE HELP ME KILL THEM. When you start to make it not fun for that person to refarm the 8 hours of shit they just worked really hard for, you are shooting yourself in the foot, you are not helping SV keep this game up and running. I do not care about the argument its a PVP GAME FULL LOOT. yeah yeah, so is REal life, one difference, I get to come back if I die. So why can't you make it fun for them to farm another 8 hours for you to kill them again and take their stuff?
Why is it so difficult for you not to play Call of duty in a game like this? I would even accept your argument about rust and ark and conan being COD they have evolved into that because of $$$. Starvault trying to keep integrity around.

I will say something in response to your sig quote: I once said, "Peace only means they won." The society is the winning 'rule set.' The sandbox is supposed to allow manipulation of that ruleset and, in the same way, society. That's kind of the point; that's when stuff happens.

As for getting killed randomly, dunno what to say. The fact that each person you see could be a friend or an enemy, and if you play right with /s or coms, you will probably make more friends than anything, even with people who fight you, sometimes. To some people, this game is just a big field of things to hunt, that's what they enjoy. Oh well. Like I said if you try to talk to people, you might find out they aren't so bad. They also might stop killing you. Not everyone wants your tears.

That's not why people are quitting, not the biggest reason, tho a lot of the nubs who quit on Steam probably did. They don't really understand it. I've died a lot! Been ganked plenty, too. It's just the way the game is. There is supposed to be action. I was riding around jungle and clading and some people were having a little skirmish. I sat far off and lobbed some arrows into it, but didn't get any hits, until people finally chased me off. I wasn't trying to do anything just kinda mess w/ people. If the game isn't set up as it is, that can't happen. That extra ability for 'stuff to happen,' makes the world feel living and breathing. People are always pvping in games, it's just who can exploit the rule set better. I jump on an MMO w/e and my money or gains or whatever are related to my ability to overcome the game. People judge each other against that. In MO, they have the added last resort of pvp, up to the point of sieging people when they finally add it.

Sometimes, you can also tire yourself out, though, like losing 8 hours of farming. That sounds like really bad luck. Think of it this way, all your mats go into the economy, and tons of other people made it thru w/ their mats.
