Just a reminder.

I made this thread on Reddit, and I wanted to talk about it here, too. There are two things about sub that aren't going to work for me, and I plan on making sure SV knows that they aren't going to work for very many people!

First off, the fact that you aren't going to be able to sub through steam is going to put a lot of people off. If you think you are going to dox our stuff again, nooo. Not happening. I would prefer to stay as far away from that site as I can! Even if it's through paypal, you still have to interface with that unsecured mess.

Secondly, Henrik spoke of migrating a second character and making 2 chars per subbed acct. THIS IS ESSENTIAL. If you do these two things, people will probably sub. Not that many, but some will. I might.

If either of these are not done, I am sitting on my free month until they are. I believe in time, you will be forced to change them in the future after people have left. TRUST.

Will only Sub once they put Thievery in.
Exactly !
THIEVERY was promised to come together with subscription... I am on this game, waiting since february 2022 for THIEVERY.
They better stick to their word and put thievery on this game !

Also, Emdash is correct about the subscription through STeam... I, for example, am from Brazil...
And 15 dollars here means more than 80 Reais...

On a bad comparison, imagine you paying 80 dollars for a game subscription ? Thats the sensation... Not good !
Its not that I cant pay... Its because its obscene !

who knows maybe thievery is already done and made to work with the new red/grey/blue system , maybe thats even part of the reason they opted to change it back aswell.

You'll be subbing. The way you're always on here with the most to say? Yeah, you'll be here. Doubt SV is worried one bit about that.

The thievery has been ongoing all this time, Henrik stealing all of ours time and initially money as well. And he did it pretty well, considering he is still going. I think Henrik's colour might be purple though, and he uses invisibility hacks.

The one who makes the game makes the system, the one who makes the system games the system, and the one who games the system makes it (in life).

A padded room.
Another thing I wonder about is if the people that donated for the conflux package will still get their free 3 months of subs?

You never hear anything about that and the press release only mentions players getting their first month free.

If they do honor that then I and others that donated will have more time before we have to decide to sub or not.

As the game is now though, I barely log in. It seems to be missing the appeal of the first game for me.

I agree ! I barely log in as well... Somehow I feel that this game was like 500% better in 2022, even without thieving.
I swear I still try to love this game, because its still the only game without ridiculous safe areas or pvp trigger craps.
But... its MISSING something. Theres barely some excitement.
Lots of NPC guards everywhere. You cant start trouble without being insta killed by an ultra powerful guard outside town.

Man... Do you remember this game on february or march 2022 ???

We had people aiming and shooting at our mounts inside towns, hiding in alleys, shooting from rooftops.... We had PKs invading towns, not being insta killed by guards... We had small fights anywhere, you were able to casually log in, find a quick fight outside any town, and then log out happy....

It was thrilling to even travel from one town to another... Very exciting.. you had to choose carefully your routes, hide, etc...

Now, a reflection.. WHat do we have today ???

- 54363782899946837357 guards. Theres not a single spot in any town where you stand still and dont see a Guard.
- More 7489340 guards OUTSIDE towns, and sometimes super far away from towns, for example Meduli and Toxai.
- 6348349 GUARDS inside a cemetery (Meduli)
- Guards will attack you inside Fabernum Sewer
- Guards at the fishing village on lake near Meduli
- Tamers with alt accounts spamming "all kill" on easy mode killing any possibility of a cool PvP
- Only one or maybe two kinds of templates that will allow you to win a fight (archer tamer for sure)
- Outlaws that spam right at you in the middle of nowhere... If you arent mounted, you re dead. Period.
- Fireworks !! Mages casting fireworks in the sky like it was reveillon...with no goals, just for the sake of it.
- After riding 30 minutes to finally find someone willing to fight, you will notice that the guy is wearing high end equipment, while you just wanted a quick skilled fight, with normal armor and weapons, not to fight against someone using ultra powerful stuff that kills you in like 3 hits.
- Pathetic jewelry that favors only those guys who have millions of gold and may pay for the unbelievably overpowered stuff !
- A super complex siege system, that was SUPPOSED to be fun, but is a pain..... Takes an eternity to siege something and the cost is astronomical. No one has any fun doing a siege. Do a research and check for yourselves. Waste of time and resources.

When are these Devs going to understand that what we need is simple CONTENT and FREEDOM ?

Want to see this game shinning again ? This is SO EASY...
I will list just 10 things that would attract thousands of people to this game :

1 - Add POISONING to this game... Poisoned weapons and poison TRAPS...
2 - THIEVING... Thats obvious... It bring excitement to the game. People wont be safe outside towns due to PKs, and neither inside, due to thieves.
3 - Add sea monsters, alligators, barracudas, sharks, oysters, jewels, sunken treasure....
4 - Add BOATS and war boats
5 - Remove guards from outside towns and make weaker town guards
6 - Add tailoring to the game, fancy clothes, hats, colors !
7 - Add NPC house renting inside towns so that people can live there.
8 - Add Lockpicking, and allow thieves to lock pick those rented houses inside towns, and loot people´s stuff
9 - Add personal guards to guard the houses, so when a thief breaks in, he will be attacked and killed
10 - Add QUESTS... Escorting quests, killing quests, puzzles, etc

Ah, another idea... Add CARAVANS, so when someone wishes to travel from one town to another, he may opt to enter on a caravan and go AFK... Of course, this NPC caravan can be attacked during the trip.

See how its easy ???
WAKE UP DEVS... GOd damn it !!!
Hire ME if you are out of ideas... For gods sake... Save this game.

I might still be here talking, but maybe not. I enjoy typing. heh. I doubt SV is worried tho, you're right. Why would they be? They think their plan is gonna work.

As for sub, it sounds like the recurring statement but I think they blew it. Pushing UE5 back is a sign they have messed something up haha. The fact they think people are going to sub per acct through their site is nuts. It's not rocket science to fix such an issue. They could even increase the sub cost, or have a second option like... one sub is 14.25 or whatever it is and one sub is 20 and you get a code that subs another steam account. If you only have one acct, you can give it to a friend or whatever to get them into the game. WIN WIN.

But they aren't gonna be able to pull the numbers they want thru their site, pay pal or not. This is their biggest lie, acting (altho not explicitly saying) that it will be through steam. "For Security" I remember!

Plus the game is meh. I want it to be good. I don't think that's happening, either, but I was waiting for the end of Oct to see this UE5 in action, to get arrow tip back, and then it's like eeee. Again, no communication. Bad signs.

SV knows what to do. People want two chars per acct. They want to be able to sub two chars they already made (so an idea like the code makes sense,) and very few people are going to sub through their site. Only the hardest of try hards and Eli if you weren't here for MO1, I suggest you think hard before you sub thru SV as well.

I played MO2 for longer, sustained, than I did 1. I played 1 for months at a time, then I'd be like ehh. Then I'd come back and play a couple more months, etc. We kept waiting, it kept getting worse.

Now that I know, in no uncertain terms, they won't do the thing with sub stuff, it just makes me realize they are in another world.

I was unhappy with the game and wasn't sure if I would sub or not, but to know, absolutely, there is no way I would sub, is just like why even play now? Esp when they took the one part of the game I enjoy and fcked it up and screwed up their last content patch and now have had to push this one back. haha. I'd even support "being in this together" with SV as they make mistakes and try to make their game better, but they don't listen. They want that little bit of money per instead of giving it to steam. It makes sense, but once they see how few people are gonna do it... they will either have to shift to highly f2p or just tap out.

IT'S CRAZY MAN.

Again, we were here for ya SV. We wanted to help ya. We were more on your side than doods like Eli and Melly who just troll and eat your game because we wanted the game to actually succeed in some way. More on your side than the people like fartbox who didn't see what MO was and what it wanted to be... but... in the end, ya severed the tie. You severed it long ago, but now THEM CHICKENS is coming home.

It's just a string of idiotic decision on after the other. Even if the game was the second coming of UO you only have yourself to blame if you put your credit card info on SV's servers. With the way the game is not secure and easily exploited do you really think your credit card is safe in their systems?

Henrik really needs to answer for his crimes.

For those who don’t know amadman was a dedicated pve player since time immemorial.

There are very few people who actually enjoy the sequel of this game if they actually have the relevant context of where the game originated from.

It will never become the game you want it to be. There are many of us who have been around waiting years for that. Early on in MO1's life a lot of us got straight addicted to the game and just knew it was going to only get better. Even for all the bugs it had back then, the core gameplay and combat was just FUN. The map was much smaller and there were a ton of people playing. I remember hardly being able to find to time to farm Urials above Fab for my first house because there was always constant action going on. There were dozens of well-established guilds and alliances with things to actually fight over. Some days I would sit down for 8 hours straight and be fighting damn near the whole time. All the game needed back then was BUG FIXES and properly added content. Instead it went straight to the shitter when Henrik couldn't stop his obsessive habit of dumping more and more unfinished/unbalanced bullshit into the game along with another massive barren content to split the playerbase.

With MO2 he had the ability to collect all the feedback from MO1 and create the perfect version of Mortal Online. And instead, amazingly, he fucked it up even worse. The game is just boring, extremely time consuming, TC was a disaster, politics are non-existant, there is no place for fully PvE/traders besides a handful, and the combat is a meme. Take it from someone who can't just fully walk away from the game forums because I'm an idiot...its never going to get better. It only slowly goes downhill. What you experienced in beta and 2022 was peak MO2.

Have a nice day.

Well, I almost think Henrik doesn't even care too much about the success. He is a very wealthy man and has a small team so there isn't a huge financial risk. He is also a smart man. I find it hard to believe he is blind to all the issues over the past decade. He has tons of feedback from MO1 and now MO2. Yet, he hasn't done anything to resolve the major issues with the game with the clean slate he was given with MO2...he basically is just copy pasting what we had in MO1 (with minor tweaks ofc).

I dont think he is purposely creating a bad game, because for the record there are a few things that are improvements over MO1 such as the obvious graphics and optimization. I just think he only cares to create a very specific game that HE wants...even if that means selling tens of thousands of copies (MO1 and 2 combined) but only having less than a thousand players to show for it. I suppose its his company and his vision so he has every right to do it...but its weird because the data shows the decisions they are making aren't good for bringing new players.

He is basically a guy with a lot of money who knows a few coders and tells them his random ideas of what he wants to be put into the game. It feels as if there is zero structure or planning. Random shit just gets changed or added whenever it pops into his head. I could list examples but you already know them. I mean for fucks sake we got Territory Control, a vital gameplay mechanic, two years after the game launched. And its such basic shit and nobody even wants to fuck with it. If only SV had a decade of feedback on how to properly implement siege mechanics...oh wait.

Also, he KNEW the server wouldn't be able to hold everyone who bought the game. There is zero chance he thought it would work. So what does he do? Adds TEMPORARY servers into the game so that people can quit and "solve" the problem. Then once thousands of people quit they say "Oh look guys we got the server capacity increased and stable its great". Then 1800 people log onto the server and it crashes and you're back into a 20 hour queue. People felt scammed because they literally couldn't play the game days after they bought it...but you sit in queue well over two hours so Steam wouldn't refund. So SV gets to pocket the cash.

Henrik is a snake oil salesman. He is selling people flashy new things like pet armors, magic, TC, and now UE5 just to keep people around. He is very good at telling people what they want to hear during his livestreams too. He just excels at it. The only reason this game even has 700 players or whatever is because there is literally nobody else with a game like this. And the reality is because it's not profitable. Henrik paid out of pocket for years to keep MO servers up, and he will soon do the same for MO2.

Damn, now I'm typing short stories like Emdash.

Lol you actually make a great point. This is just like a private server of an MMO emulator. It finally clicked. Though, why make a game like this if you're not even playing it, this last part makes no sense to me logically. I totally get a rich dude making his own game (with BJ and hoes) but you'd figure the man would actually play it then.

I’m actually quite certain that he intended to take mo1 feedback seriously. This is why “speed is king”, and not “everyone playing thursars and veelas” was a big focus in early beta. This is also the reason why there are bunch of erroneous skill points added to the game like mounted Magery. It is definitely the reason for the “prediction issues” being fixed and turn caps. The list goes on and on of feedback that completely changed the game to an unrecognizable state.

The main problem that I’m seeing now is the mo1 “pvpers” who gave feedback are arguably even dumber than the avg player was. Henrik listened to these fools and this is the game we got.

From what I’ve seen the only person I trust to give feedback on mo is myself.
