1. Click Install
2. Gets to roughly 20%
3. Steam Crashes
4. Windows Explorer Crashes
5. Restart
6. Launch Steam (download continues automatically)
7. Within 1 minute, crashes steam + explorer simulataneously
When this happens, before Explorer Crashes, my HDD doesn't show in explorer, and I can't access anything on my HDD. (SSD is fine).
Troubleshooting:
-CHCKDSK f: /x /r
-No issues found
-Safemode let's me open Steam, and uninstall Mortal 2
-Once uninstalled, I can boot normally, and access my HDD, and steam works perfectly fine.
-Running steam in admin mode
-Tried installing other games, with no issues (Elden Ring, Raft, and BDO all install without issue)
-Tried a spare HDD, same issue happens.
Notes:
-SSD is 500gb, and only has about 75GB available.
-Both HDD's are 1TB
SPECS:
32GB DDR5
GTX 3070 6GB VRAM
Intel 12600k I5
I've never had any issues with any other game / installation. Nothing running in the background, and I only use this PC strictly for gaming. Minimal browsing, no youtube, no netflix, no twitch, nothing other than STEAM, Discord, Google Chrome is installed/used regularly.
*Google chrome is only open if I am looking up information on a game, and never opened while playing a game.
