I really like this game, but there has been a lot nagging me about it. I finally figured out what it (or at least I) was missing.
Put in NAMED NPCs, that have a chance to spawn at appropriate POIs, that have a loot table that has some actual good stuff.
I found a cave in a bandit camp, went pretty deep. There were some scoundrels deep down, which was sad.
Then it hit me, these POIs were be worth it to explore if there were a chance for a named NPC to spawn, with loot that makes it worthwhile to find them and kill them.
You can have a named npc for every mob and class. Named Bandit bowman/healer/caster, named RIsars, etc etc.
Imagine there being a named mountain spider that would spawn in a random mountain spider camp, that drops something thats unique and valuable .
This would make it worth to always check spawns everywhere, just to see if a random named NPC/MOB had spawned.
