I would rather see more hybrids between Mounted Archery and Footfighters, or Hybrids between Mounted Combat and Footfighter, and that it not require so much skills to be able to fight from the mount, so that mounted fighters can be very good footfighters aswell.
I think it would be nice if horses remain prety squishy, even with armor. Not as squishy as now, but not too strong.
Rather remove some skills required for mounted Combat/Mounted Archery, becuase we have only 1 Character.
I think everyone should be able to bandage his horse with Bandages, if he have skilled anatomy.
Atm there is a possebility to catch mounted Players and bring there horse down, without having a full moutned Archer with controlled riding and swift riding, because the horses are squishy.
This is much more fun, as if the speed difference of a full mounted fighter is so huge, that he can escape most of the time.
Mounted combat and archery was always an expencive build. Rather make it cheep and let us level the pets faster. There is a skill that let you leven your mount faster. Make it a profession skill.
If horses are too strong, and if the speed difference and benefits from swift riding and controlled riding are too huge, they escape most of the times, without people be able to catch up with them, if they not have a full moutned character. This is game perspective wise not as much fun, as if we would have squishy horses and hybrids between mounted combat and footfighters, becuase we would rather see a fight. That a player get dismopuntred and the other mounted guys will stop to help him.
My suggestion is to remove controlled riding and swift riding, or make them a secondary skill.
I would rather see mounted combat guys fight on horse, till the mount die and then continiue to fight on foot.
Maybe even remove the balance Skill. Make the hybrid between Mounted Combat and Footfighter as viable as possible. This would make the game much better. It would improve the playstyle. Everyone could fight on mount and on foot, unless he is a tamer with pets.
Having tanky horses, with which you ride away out of the combatzone, to heal it up with bandages, and noone is able to catch up with you would be a bad design, becuase this build is too safe.
A footfighter group in MO1 could escape on a mountain, till he mounted Combat group ride away, but this is not as much fun, as if the horses would be squishy, and if we would engage each other and get a fight.
I love moutned archery and mounted combat, but it is much more fun, if you use moutned combat and mounted Archery, and then continiue to fight on foot, without being gimped on foot.
For sure it would make transporting more risky aswell, but we will get ships and other options to transport goods.
