How to make the best alchemist?

Could someone give me an idea of what makes an alchemist good at his job? I'm going to start an alchemist character but don't know how to make a good one. I have to assume a non pvp alchemist would be better since it frees up more points right?

There are many public information available in the Steam forums and at some Discord servers. Search for the server "chosen alchemy" in Discord.

But if you want to become a good alchemist (or even the "best") then you shouldn't read anything about alchemy but start from the beginning and run your own tests.
