if sales numbers went off the charts, and 5 million players were looking to get online, do you think henrik would sit there any say 'no, one world only, and our server hosts ~10k players concurrently, so the rest of you will have to just wait'. they'd be instantly pissing away more money than they know what to do with.

Yes, but not for maybe the reasons you think. I'm not saying Henrik doesn't want millions of dollars or MO2 to be a success. But even if 5 million people were saying, "Hey, I want to play your game, let me give you money", I think he and the rest of us understand that the 30 person team he's currently running and the structure of the game right now just could not sustain that influx and survive. Anything he would do to accommodate the 5 million people on day 1, for example sell a portion of the proceeds to a publisher to get them to duplicate the game on 1000 server shards and handle all incoming support, and hire 300 developers on day 1 would completely destroy what is drawing people to this game in the first place and honestly I don't think the team/development structure could scale, they'd basically just be selling off the code and idea to someone else who would absolutely not want to make this game. Whenever you have a very innovative concept, it's much safer to start small with enthusiasts and iterate, iterate, iterate until it's ready for a mass market.

Lots of these games even if not hyped or over hyped just the EA trailer which studio have to have they get a shitload of people interested.
The timing is really good for SV right now. Crowfall failed, and NW will be in rut by then.

People are very MMO hungry and MO2 is a FPS MMO open world PVP medieval fantasy game (with full loot). Lots of people will be interested in a FPS MMO, Lots of people think they are interested in a open world PvP game, and a ok amount are ok thanks to rust for full loot.

I can for see at least when sale on steam for EA go live and even up to 50k+ whether or not the game is good. Then it would be a scramble by the team to keep up and fight off neg reviews from all the people who will experience bugs from the growing pains of creating the game.

Another EA game on steam WW3 which said it was inspired by BF2 and BF3 got 75k people trying to log in and even more who bought it. The next month it had 5k the month after that 3k, and then 300 and now its around 100 but pulled from the store. You cant buy it anymore. The community rallied a lot to the reviews up to 80% but people still didnt show back up. Lots of growing pain with bugs, crashes being the biggest pop killer. They had monthly patches. The game was fun uptill the 3rd patch for me then they did gameplay changes taking feekback from 100 players who were more tactical RPers then competant FPS players.

Really need to keep the bugs down to not bleed players. That game had had a test server but still had issues at first.

SV really needs to step up and have more content and some objectives to keep peeople interested. Asking for 15 a month and 40

So many number and statistics people like to throw around….

lets not forget that MO1 ran for 11 years without ever making money, ever being finished, or ever being popular.

Henrik doesnt care about any of that. He just wants his dream world. A canvas where to create his perfect fantasy while slaying some nubes. The rest is just noise.

Some rich people have a yacht to pour buckets of money into. Henrik has Mortal Online (and probably a yacht too).

I think you guys are overreacting and being a bit unfair.
I think SV has become better at listening to feedback and implementing things the community wants to see in the game.

They want bad players to not quit I guess. Maybe its a plan to slowly make them more skill required over time so people who do poorly grow into not being bad.

Draculina said something right ... we need like some sort of a free trial for players that seems interested by the game after the persistent ...

Some kind of pre-made build, maybe maxed or not in skills, to play in heaven for like 1 week or less ... something that someone can join in and bang, but stays only in heaven ... to not be abused for other players ...

I think heaven could have more monsters like a troll maybe some bandits far away .... that would make ppl think what more would have it have of content in the actual world.

Its really hard to someone that never played mortal to pay 40 bucks on the game and start subing 15 dollars a month ... without get connected first with the game or the idea that will be the game ltr on

I am totally fine with the 15$ a month sub. It keeps the 12 year olds away and makes it so people cant have infinite accounts.
You clearly don't know how the MO player base operates. For example, RBT. Dude had 12 accounts subbed all the time.
