Yes, early trade relations is just fine, something I also have. But to call the current state a working economy... Our charachters are super Meta, high skills in no time. I´m just amazed some people put so much effort in to it at this state.

It's an economy. Not sure what differentiation you make by calling it "working" economy?

Yes, I also spend a lot of time in game. Testing, exploring and socialising, since it's no persistance beta, But I find it laughable people treat the game in the current state as some sort of release and loudly complain in what order SV implement new content.

Thanks for sharing your opinion but as others have mentioned, some of us have multiple hundreds of hours in this game already and play it daily. When that daily gameplay gets "damaged", people will speak up.

My argument was that it would have been a lot less disruptive to wait with "removing the horse carry bug" until horse bags were in.

Nothing I have seen you write invalidates that argument. All I see is complaints about others making complaints.

Thats exactly my point, you treat it as a released game.

No I don't. Did you miss the part where I said I just quit playing until horse bags are in? If this was a released game, I'd be making 50 threads about not being able to transport shit.

People are using it as daily entertainment, however. Whether there is still a wipe to come is irrelevant.
If you don't see it the same way as them then fine, you are entitled to your own opinion. That does in no way, however, invalidate their complaints.

"But it's not released" is not a valid counter argument to "they could have handled the horse weight better".

What is it exactly you are trying to achieve here by complaining about others complaining?

Whether it's a bug or feature is irrelevant. A functionality was removed without a replacement:
We were able to transport a considerable amount of goods on horseback. Now we can't and it has greatly affected the economy

Should they remove the carry weight "bug" on horses? Sure. How about they wait with removing it until they have an alternative means to move goods on horseback though?

And I'm not convinced being able to carry a full inventory on horseback was a bug. Rather, they hadn't implemented the horse actually caring about the rider's weight yet.

Me, personally, I'm not too bothered. I'll just wait until they add horse bags before I really play again.
However, the people pretending complaints are just out of impatience and "not understanding beta", I will call them out on being wrong.
Haha, "not sure it was unintended" sure bud....you can't walk with a full inventory but can ride a horse somehow...surely that's intended because.....it's important for you to farm in a beta? You've got a thick skill.

The mental gymnastics you just went thru to justify exploiting a bug is pretty funny to be honest. I call people out when they're wrong too, and also when they're delusional.

You speak of mental gymnastics but at the same time throw a straw man at me about "not sure it was unintended" .

I'm sure the irony of it all went straight over your head.

I never said anything about things being intended or unintended.
Let me try to explain although I'm certain it's a waste of effort trying to explain this to someone with your degree of reading comprehension:

1. We observed a certain behaviour: we were able to carry a full inventory on horseback without it bucking us off.

Hey, buddy, are you still with us so far? Yeah? Can you agree this is what was happening? Got it?

2. There are two possible causes for this behaviour:
  • A weight system was implemented where horses were supposed to be aware of the rider's weight. If the weight was too high, it was supposed to buck off the rider. There was a bug however, so it wasn't working as intended.
  • A weight system where horses would take into account the rider's weight simply wasn't implemented yet.
3. In neither of the above 2 situations would be behaviour be the desired behaviour.
4. I never claimed being able to carry a full inventory on horseback was the desired or intended behaviour.
5. I claimed it's more likely the second cause (it simply not being implemented up to that point) rather than a failed implementation of the weight system.

Did you make it to the end, buddy? Even if you made it all this way, which I doubt, I'm sure you still don't realise what an ass you made out of yourself with your waffle about "Not intended huh? lolol".

Bugs that players exploit for personal gain should be removed asap, sometimes that means before they have all systems figured out, is it inconvenient? of course but exploits are exploits and if the argument is that its beta so it should be allowed does that mean cheat engine should be allowed? i know huge difference but its basically the same concept.

There's a difference between a bug and something that just isn't implemented yet.

  1. Imagine nobody ever takes wound damage, a wound system isn't implemented yet. (no horse weight system yet, you can carry anything on horseback)
  2. They implement wound damage but no way to heal it. (horse weight system implemented but no horse bags)
  3. A few weeks down the line, they add food and resting to heal wound damage. (horse bags are added)

That phase 1 ,when nobody took wound damage, that was not people "exploiting a bug".
We are in phase 2 right now and that's why people are complaining they rather wanted to wait with phase 2 until horse bags were ready.

So, yeah, especially your cheat engine analogy, utterly doesn't apply here. Huge difference AND different concept.
One is a feature that's missing that affects every player equally, the other is a cheating tool certain individuals can use to have an unfair advantage over others.

if players were actively doing something to not take "wound damage", they would be exploiting a bug wouldn't they?

"phase 1" is not comparable
Everyone in the game "not taking wound damage" is not a choice a player is making, loading up 1000s of kg on your horse is, please tell me you can see that difference.

Isn't the point of this stage of the beta to test out skills, extraction values/mechanics, effects of skill on various actions, crafting, etc?

A good 75% of this game is resource gathering and crafting....if SV's intention was for us to do that without a way to haul large amounts of goods until they implemented horse bags a month later then they're extremely sadistic.

Anyone getting into combat and getting hit would be "exploiting" the no wound damage, by that logic. Getting into combat is a choice.

There would simply be no wound system, as there was no horse weight system. You can't exploit a system that isn't even implemented yet.

It's not "exploiting a bug". What happened is that horse weight was unlimited. Anyone carrying inventory on horseback was not exploiting. There was no "valid" way of carrying stuff on horses.

SV then implemented a limitation. A big step in the "carry stuff on horseback" feature but still missing the vital horse bag option.

If a developer implements a jumping function for characters but hasn't gotten around to limit the jump height yet, you're gonna call people out for "exploiting the jumping bug"? Cause jumping is a choice, right? LOL

Not if you think about what exploiting is, if there is no benefit or use to the player its not an exploit, otherwise any bug like falling through the map would be considered exploiting and thats just silly.

horse carry weight was implemented it just didnt have the knockdown limit, you can exploit a system that isnt finished.

horses are relatively new to MO2 and without horse bag i would imagine SV didnt intend us to be hauling yet.

oh look hyperbole using a basic game function.

if you go into every conversation with a closed mind aiming to leave the same way, any discussion with you is pointless.

Like a jumping system without a max jump height. Which is not "exploiting jumping" just cause it has an "advantage" while it's unfinished. It's equal for everyone so thanks for proving my point.

Ad hominem now? Okay. If you can't have a civil conversation may as well ignore you. Especially if you're unable to just admit a mistake when you've been proven wrong. Had plenty of chances...

if there is no jump limit that is a bug, if you use that bug to gain advantage like jumping into someone palisade, thats an exploit, its pretty simple, just because everyone has the chance to use an exploit doesnt mean it isnt an exploit.

proven wrong says you and only you. like i said before different opinions i came into the thread with an open mind and you failed to change it.

ignore option is right there buddy. cya round

The difference is more along the lines of, we know a tool is going to be implemented to allow us to jump 1/3 as high as the palisade, but without it you can only jump 1/10 of the palisade which makes 75% of the game more tedious than it already is, so I'd rather people be able to jump into palisades until the tool is ready than make the game feel unplayable.

If you would rather the game be more tedious so people can't jump into palisades (obviously just sticking to the analogy) then it's just an agree to disagree situation.

Edit:
Also I don't see the huge deal with people using this to stock up on materials that will inevitably be wiped. Being able to move an inventory filled with carcass is almost equivalent to 100x skill gain, but it just wasn't intentional.

What is going to be hilarious is when someone gets their bags and fills them to the brim and is like oh yeah baby my horse bags are so full and then their mounts vanishes LMFAO
That will happen, for sure.
Also we all know that with the next patch more bugs are coming. Then we need to wait next patch to fix previous patch. Not trying to be negative, just realistic.
