I'm not a mage, but according to help chat geodes/crystals are used to buy elementalist books from elementalist vendors. Maybe they are reagents too.. idk about that.

Geodes are worth 10s when buying elementalist items from the Elementalist Vendor. I've collected many myself in the last 2 weeks. Initially they were being sold for 500G or thereabouts on the broker but as they've become more common the prices are down to 60G in some towns. There uncommon/rare to collect.
