Very bad stats on garments and a set is like at around 2kg which was the old magic regen weight limit.
The magic weight regen limit is 4kg now so SV should increase the amount of mats in the garments to allow for 3.5 to 4KG set which would increase the protection values they have. Right now the armor is useless outside of roleplay and some style for some people.
