This is what I feel like...

-y-aaa-awn- Sunday Morning! Coffee! No, but check it.

We are in a weird spot because we've broken "the vision!" I dunno what movie or book, maybe some Philip K Dick shite, that you can think of, but we are in an alternate universe now. This is a truly historical moment. I did not want it for various reasons (probably similar to Henrik's), but here we are.

I think that, as pooter, I think, said, the idea of GETTING MERJD is kind of a pipe dream. If it happens, if a bunch of people quit, OK. More likely, I think we are facing a situation where, like we went thru most of beta without building, the devs probably will find a way to separate the instances enough to allow building in them. I'm going to go into full theory mode, so get ready, then I'm going to wrap up with some of what I think could be done, realistically.

Let's say they make 4 Myrland shards and turn them into continents. What happens to the stuff in Myrland banks? Just gets poofed over to reg myrland? What if they're full? Sounds like a biiig problem. Are people really just assuming all their stuff is gonna be wiped when a new continent is placed on top of their Myrland shard? I guess the illusion of making progress along mainside Myrland is helpful, but...

The Mortal Online we all loved (and raged over) was a game of like 1k people haha. Let us remember that. Is having multiple servers really that bad? Cuz, this is a breaking off point, where they can continue to pour dev time into getting everyone back into the main continent and merging it when appropriate OR they can accept that this game has wildly outshone their expectations and thus, multiple servers are necessary to support its player base, even when new continents come along. I embrace the multiple servers idea for one simple reason (again, probably similar to Henrik's), it finally hit me on the head like a brick('d server) that IT'S JUST NOT GONNA BE POSSIBLE to do what they wanted to do and have it be single server.

Think about it this way, the game is massively negged on Steam because people can't get in. IF people COULD get in, there could potentially be WAY MORE people. More people is... good... right? I don't like TC, and I think in the end it will always be a grief mechanism, but it seems having multiple servers is the way we are going here, and yes, they will probably end up with TC as well. The good thing is that starting from 0 on them will be LESS TAINTED than launch stuff. I know some people don't have integrity, but some do!

I would like there to be a never TC server, as I said, and it could be coupled with more open pvp. I dunno the gain of direct copy servers, but this is a chance to give people what they want. lawl, even if people want a no forced pvp server, they can have it! Just make it so they can't bring mats out of it. Really, I think all servers should have their own character and mats, per acct.

PEOPLE BELIEVE THIS IS A TEMPORARY MEASURE, and it might be intended to be RIGHT NOW, however, IF people pour in and fill these new shards, it's going to make it even LESS likely it stays temporary. Then, we have the possibility of going back thru what we are going thru now when we have xxxxxx people, further into the game. Imagine THAT debacle.

As I said, find the number of people who can fit on a server and have it not lag to death, if it's 2k, ok, that's a lot of people. HARDCAP. Make another server. The world IS absolutely barren as multiple people have said, and people who think it's not ARE WIGGING OUT. I always say I have some special talent because I can walk from one town to another and NEVER ENCOUNTER A HORSE SPAWN, even though I, supposedly, pass many along the way. That didn't happen in MO1. You should see me with MoMap open and being like OK I see some... bush pigs, I must be here... so if I go in this direction. haha, I mean eventually you learn spawn location, but I had most of the Mo1 map hard memorized, even the jungle. They DEF need more pickables, more mobs, more camps ( I still support having little red camps here and there w/ priests and banks; THE WORLD IS SEVERELY LACKING PRIESTS.)

I don't know if downsizing the world is even an option anymore, but if I climb on top of a mountain, there should be a chest there or something! Some sort of reward other than just BARREN-NESS upon baroness.

TO SUMMARIZE: I accept multi servers, but I wish they would consider a pvp friendly one like BDO Arsha. I think the assumption that they can merge is based on people quitting, if we assume based on growth, there will be multiple servers. The world needs more static things now that we have realized the number of players that fit into a server is not nearly what we thought. There is still much fun to be had here, and, as I said, being CEO requires making hard decisions. HENRIK, I applaud you (maybe you guys can take away some of my forum punishment points for being positive!), you are doing something un-wanted but necessary, hopefully for the sake of the game. Who knows where this ends, but at least people can play the game for now (once implemented.) I hope all devs continue to consider all options as they move forward, and more paying customers should never be a detriment to a game! Altho, I do admit hoping people got griefed out so I could play on the single server :p:p:p I, too, can change!

THAT'S ALL.

Edit: and YES if at all possible, start legally pursuing the means to plant an NA server.

On the other hand the vastness of the world makes travel feel like travel. I’ve never been to the Far East of the map. That’s something to look forward too, actual travel.

Get a horse and explore it’s not at all what you’re describing.
Travel sucks. Maybe its fun the first time but every time after that it has no benefits. Me and my friend riding from Vadda to Meduli is just a boredom simulator. I'm not exploring and I'm not having fun. Its like getting in the car and driving for 30 mins to get somewhere. I'm doing it because I need or want to go there. Having less travel would only make the experience better.

Again a high valuable opinion of dear spamdash, gladly the world can continue to spin now!

I see you're working on your writing skills, too! Almost a rhyme this time.

(again-opin-contin-spin to those uninitiated!)

Put in TC so people can move out of towns, optimize the server to be able to handle more people, add a NA continent worthy of being the NA continent and forget these extra servers ever happened imo..
Tc was one of the worst thing in mo
From start to end

only grind and npc guards behind walls..

It is not actually all that big. Running from north to south with maxed skills does take under an hour without a horse.

The problem is that there is a lot of nothingness in between. There aren't even animals outside of relatively small spawn zones.

It would probably help if those vast areas of emptyness had some real valueable stuff in them. But it is mostly just your usual stuff like bandit camps.

I wouldn't mind a smaller world if it meant it was more densely packed and interestingly designed. I would actually like to run into players in the wilderness.

yea I can numlock my veela to dooli from Bakti, did it often before y'know... the game became impossible to play. Now, if you're talking all the way up to GK with all the mountains, yea, that stuff is weird. The way the mountains are makes a lot of spots v much of a grabass to access, but MK-->duli, bakti->duli... it's doable. But yea, there should be camps and stuff. It's kind of wack that at any point on the map, you can stop, turn around, and not see anything to interact with. That's bad design imo.

I can't imagine a competent game designer looking at the current Myrland map and saying:
"Yeah, this looks sufficiently filled with monsters and stuff to do. Ready for release!"

what about one who already pushed the release back months and didn't wanna do it again? :)

Well theres going to be tc and hopefully that comes with a priest and a stable at least so it won’t be a pain to live out of your keep.
