I ride/walk around and all I see is nubs; 'dead game' it's you who aren't playing.

If the game is dead, do PvE. Mortal PvE isn't bad if you don't try to just cheese it with a bow.

In some cases that is true. But that is the same in most MMOs.. ranged fighting makes the games easy. Albion, WoW, ESO, NWO.. all of them ranged makes life easy.
