Crouching | Arrow Crafting

Hello fellow Mortal Onliners,

Does anyone know whether crouching and arrow crafting will be added to the game?

Crouching would be nice for sneaking/ambushing/hunting.

Arrow crafting would be nice as it would add to the extensive crafting system, add an additional layer to the economy and would be an influential factor in pvp (using bone tips, tungsteel tips etc). Being able to pick up your arrows after use would also be nice (especially if using expensive tips) and would further add to the realism of the game.

Thoughts?

Well there is sitting which can be used to hide in lots of places, but i assume you want a crouch that lets you move. It would be cool i guess if there was no way to abuse it during pvp ( slow movement or something).
Fletching would be cool but then i start to think of SV having to balance all the possible arrows combination with all the bows combinations…and im not convinced they would ever get it right.

so yea those things would be nice, but when i think of the mountain of other things id like to have/get fixed first….those are way way down the line.

Crouching has been confirmed to be a future addition via Henrik's stream.

On the note of crouching, one thing I hope they add is a short delay in revealing a player name tag as you mouse over them. For example, a 1 second delay forcing you to keep your aim on them for 1 second before the name plate appears. This would allow for people to be crouched in a bush and for example, not accidentally revealed by a passing player as they "Mouse" over their player model inadvertently.

That may be ok, but only when a person is crouching/hiding, the rest of the time it would be horrible. For example, in a big fight.

Fetching/arrow making is planned for the future, it was always planned in the first game as well.

Good to hear that crouching is a confirmed planned feature for the future.

I'm guessing that with Unreal Engine 4.26 it would be more than powerful enough to support crouch with multiple ragdoll hitboxes.

Make it so that in crouch stance, any damage done to the player will be 1.5-2x higher than normal for balancing purposes. This means players who crouch will only do so when they are absolutely certain that they can get away without being hit, like during thievery attempts or sneaking away from roaming pkers in the wild.

Not to mention the heightened adrenaline rush this would have.
