you'll also need 1h + 2h blade hilts book, to craft the handles

I believe it counts towards the durability depending on what material used and your lore skills.

The material used to make the handle (core, not outer grip) greatly affects durability, sometimes as much as 2x. It can also slightly affect damage output.

Sometimes, the material quite often overlooked turns out to be one of the best. I'll leave it at that.
