With a new and improved PVE system being implemented I would love to see strategic use of damage types.
Say we're up against a large monster out in the wild. The monster has weak points which are too high up on the body to reach. However, there are armored areas on the legs and/or arms within reach. Slashing/piercing damage is ineffective against the armored regions. These areas would require a higher strength individual using blunt damage weapons to break and expose them. Once exposed, sword and spear users would be able to attack the areas for big slashing/piercing damage. After enough damage has been done to the leg the monster might be weakened and kneel allowing players to reach the higher, more vulnerable regions for even larger damage.
Feel that mechanics like this might create a demand for people of all different play styles. This was a pretty generic example but I'm sure the idea could be expanded on greatly. Maybe mages have to use fire spells on certain areas of an ice monster to open it up to the rest of the team.
