I see that they want to remove shields from mages, since it is a warrior accessory, very good! I suggest removing Earthquake from warriors too, currently almost all warriors are using it, making life hell for mounted mages, as if mages on the ground weren't already hell, a fat mage without a shield on the ground is a pain... mounted it's not much different thanks to not being able to make turns, slow casts and the fact that all warriors have earthquake! I suggest that all high-level spells have an int prerequisite to use! Earthquake inteligence requirement *100
Fulmination *80
Thunderslash *80
...

There just needs to be intelligence requirements on all spells, and strength requirements on all equipment.

The game has a hybrid problem, and part of it is also to do with too many skillpoints being available; and people playing everything builds.

I said that long ago : Make it so that in order to cast Earthquake, they need to have 100 magery + 100 Mental training + 100 Mental offense (plus 100 INT).

Either that or let us mages be able to turn mounts while casting.


Just occurred another idea here...

Make it possible to resist an Earthquake's dismount if the player has 100 Balance !!!

So easy to fix.,,.

Since you copy pasted this in my thread. This will not change the issue you are trying to resolve. EQ needs a check against KD resist. The game doesn't make sense otherwise. Every fighter I currently have has 100 INT because of the changes the devs made to Ahk Bond, and with how absolutely broken magic is. I have a lot of characters, and the ones I currently play all have 100+ int, including my human, sheevra, and thursar. All of these characters are FFs first, and all of them have EQ.

I don't see anyone using 100 int! I see everyone using PSY! My thunderslash does 40 damage to thursar, outburst 22, I think you're playing another game!

It's been a long time since I've done damage to someone with low psy, all warriors have 60 to 90 psy! Forcing them to have int to use earthquake at least forces them to give up Psy!

Everyone is a Psy fighter, with high psy, they already nerfed the shock damage which was our only way out... and the warriors are still mostly using earthquake, and magic reflect, potion of reflect and potion of magic damage reduction! Playing as a mage endgame is practically masochism!

Mage Damage vs Warrior + potion...

the wizard is ignorable!
