First impressions are that the game is slow, quiet and empty. Too quiet, too slow and too empty. If I want to farm a graveyard the game immediately becomes a walking simulator. At least initially. And raise the in-game volume... it's ridiculous how quiet the game is.

The game is far too quiet and the environmental sound effects are lackluster and also too quiet. Wind sounds? Leaves rustling? Valheim much?

I was hesitant to get too involved in any one thing because going in and out of town, and beyond, was so slow and tedious that these things were a chore. Changing the character speeds are not going to happen at this point. I can only hope my guy will become significantly faster.

Game has a huge upside. Typically the opinion of most people is terrible, and the opinion of someone new is worse still. Be that as it may I guess I do find some value in my own first impression, however worthless that impression is.

Starting over. Will probably become a human.

Get a horse dude. Riding is a secondary skill. Everyone can get it.

also game is only empty cause everyone is waiting for launch. It will be a mad house on launch and you will be begging for the good old quiet times.

Come 26 October and you may find that the game world will be very much lived in compared to now. That much I can be sure of.

Like @Jackdstripper said, a horse is an absolute necessity if you want to get anywhere in the continent which is 4-6 times the size of the one in the first game.

There's a bug with the footspeed and sprinting skill which may be effecting you as well.

Well I just entered NAVE. Tried to find a horse last night with such looking taking vastly too much time. To get to one building full of books to the other building full of books while hearing nothing environmental except some way quiet footsteps, the experience in totality made one a likely candidate for the motionless world record as well as turning into a self harming cutter to experience anything at all. I knew there wasn't going to be too many people, but the world needs a good dose of Valheim inspired ambient sound effects. Running water for example in a stream or river is about as loud as a male ant giving his gf ant a golden shower. Well, that is if such a thing were possible in some alternate universe.

Always planned on getting a horse. Always suspected I'd eventually get one. Was hoping to already have one after one zombie head made me walk even slower heh

Bro, if you play this game to orgasm on asmr waterfall noises you’ve got the wrong game.
Yes, the world sounds are not extensive. Then again MO has never been known for audiogasmic excellence. Ambient sound is also very low on the list of pressing issues.
seriously dude. Not the ant porn youre looking for.

It's actually the lack of congruency between audio/visual that can be apt to be jarring for some, I think. MO has never been known for its lush 3d landscapes either. Yet here we are. Yet here we aren't.

Speaking of ant porn, I once saw a huge male tortoise moan, then do the superman when he was bangin' some slightly overweight female tortoise on youtube. That moan should be recorded by the devs then implemented into the game as an animal sound or creature sound. Either way, will probably be an improvement.

noodlearmzjacklimper... it was fun while it lasted...

I don't know, I find there to be good volume on the ambience and world noises. Storms are downright loud.

I once heard rain when it was sunny. I was having too much fun in this post. Slow movement speed is most likely a necessary evil given the 3D graphics and one server location.

Slow MS generally comes from having a new toon and poor skills. It shouldnt be like that, I agree, but you are not slow forever. You need DEX and to level up the movement skills.
