PvP has no indication as to who the enemy is or who your allies are, aside from scanning the battlefield with your eyes and looking through the guild tags/names of your friends. This doesn't sound like a big deal but it really is to competitive play. When there is multiple targets on the battlefield and I am a MA or Mounted Mage for example, Having to go in and out of combat with my spells charged or hit their back line or whatever. One can waste so much time reassessing the battlefield and finding a target to attack, repeating this process again and again.
Having Colors or a Aura can simplify this process, additionally allowing High ranking members of guilds (The Commanders) the ability to target someone and place a marker Like a Crossbones above peoples heads can allow focus in competitive play.
