NDA was just lifted and game is now allowed to be streamed for those that have Alpha access. For those that liked EVE Online Ashes seems to be the closest thing to it in a medieval fantasy game. Super excited for this one. End game looks amazing!

EVE meets Vanilla Archeage before the P2W killed it...

He's using the map to explain how the end game is going to function, I think its amazing...

I remember hearing about how the map was gonna be dynamic a long time ago. Like mobs and resources were going to wane if they were overfarmed. It seemed interesting, but now that I have seen the game, it's like ehh I dunno.

I will forever be tilted that MO2 cannot use inventive ideas and create a worthwhile end game, opposed to grind systems. Ashes ain't it, for me. I had hoped for more. I think both Ashes and Pax Dei are similar looking (lol did they make them w/ the same engine?) but I have higher hope for Pax. We shall see.

The game just looks doggy to me.

I'm digging it, the resource distribution with territory control and politics makes it feel EVE'ish and the class combinations and open world PVP makes it feel Archeage'ish... A fantastic combination of mechanics put into a medieval fantasy MMORPG game...

MO2 was supposed to have regional resources and shit but Henrik pussied out and made it even more carebear than MO1. Such a wasted opportunity with regional banks/AH, all the cool sandbox shit was canned to make the game more accesible

Yeah it blows me away how there are not resources specific to different areas of the map that are actually needed and worth fighting over. Having the most rare mats tucked away in only one corner of the map in GK is just utterly bad design. Every corner of the map should have mats that can only be obtained there and needed everywhere to progress andor create better items.

This would incentivize back and forth trade, and wanting to actually control that territory, it would give meaning and worth to all regions. People would actually have something to fight over... How is this not blindingly obvious to SV and Henrik?? People are screaming "Give us something to fight over, make TC mean something" They just don't get it... They don't understand game design it seems...

if it's good, I'll be there. I never played eve. I am def focused on Pax atm and secondarily mortal, but I'm starting to get annoyed at people again. I think my dream of someone making a sandbox right may go unfulfilled a bit longer.

Edit: Reading the posts about resources, and yeah... I still have hope for MO, but THE PEOPLE. I got into a discussion on why it was wack for defenders to be able to set siege windows with the leader of Odinseed, I guess. He went on to brag that they are the test team and they choose what happens with updates, haha, more or less. I asked him if he was ready to take responsibility for what has happened to the game then. But he left.
