2-handed sword crafting - really???

I'm trying to level up my skills to craft a 2h sword, but I'm completely halted by "Advanced Blade Crafting".
Is it really by design, that the only way I can level this skill is by sitting and waiting, while reading a book for 60+ hours?.. simply to craft a basic 2h sword?...

Am I missing something, or does this seem totally off, from a game design perspective?
Are there any faster/more fun way to level this skill?

you can still spam craft with bone tisue ... but hey , long time book is the only thing that separate a new character and an old one

-but I cant craft anything without the subsequent skill, can i? what can I craft to level "advanced Blade Crafting" to 60?

You should only have to read a book until you have the required skill to read the first child under it.

Reading the child will raise the parent and you will be albe to start crafting for gains as well.

I am not ingame to check the list though. At what level of advanced blade crafting is great blades readable?

as i see it they need to rework it from the ground coz whole craft skill system atavism from first mo
even logical why do i need to put another 100 primaries in 2h hilt if i already knows how to make same blade for one hand?

we have now all in one character, crafter and fighter, do i need 100 pts for example in axe crafting when i have 100 in main panel, i have parent skill simpleblade crafting at max. no need to double skill two times.

i dont say that we should have all in one, but for sure there 100 ways to improve it.

once you start to read great blade , it should unlock at least one "greatblade" weapon no ? once it's done spam it to be safe and then read the 2h sword book

60 i believe. So I have to read the book until 60 - Just seems strange, that you literally just have to sit around and wait... not very immersive

Just checked and pole blade crafting takes 0 advanced blade.

So that is the skill to jump to and train.

Eh, you could say the inability to be content while waiting is a product of a mind that is over-stimulated, and that the healthier thing to do would be to sit with it to help your brain find it's way back to homeostasis, rather than forge ahead and find more stimuli - but, I'm glad you found your answer and can keep busy.
