It isn’t worse per se. Aspects of it certainly are. What’s good: being able to go into town red. Being able to kill reds in town and elsewhere and having the fun of figuring out who. What’s worse: no local grey. No expiry on murder accidentally hit someone and they report you 10 hours later...

It’s an mmorpg, they are typically assymetrical in nature or rock paper scissory. I wouldn’t play anything but mage if I wanted to have impact in fights. You’re not going to be frost novaing and polymorphing anyone but a mage with a summon was generally unkillable for a solo warrior.

The way that mages are designed in this game means that they aren’t a good solo pve class hard stop. You typically need a pet or a summon. Mages however have the most impact on group pvp.
