Let us discuss this situation. It has surely rocked MO2 to the core.

I don't feel too surprised, but when I digest it, it's pretty crazy. I said before a lot of shit doesn't make sense, even balances. It's hard to balance when you have rogue agents!

If you guys have more info, like a link with more of the text in it, please post.

HOW WE FEELING ABOUT OUR FAVORITE GAME NOW? When are we getting that SV apology???

Or if this has been proven to just be a rumor, also lmk.

How do we move on from here??

From what I saw Robmo acknowledged they were banning hackers and not letting them evade.

He was getting upset that they weren’t full on banning people across all their accounts for exploits like alt f4ing at loading screen or opening doors quickly. I could see myself getting annoyed by being micromanaged to that extreme if I was arsas. Especially when dude is being like “I implemented the policy”. Sounds like he was trying to throw rank and use closeness to Henrik to impose his wish on Arsas like I’m the boss these are your orders.

Nice enough guy did his best where he could and didn’t agree with everything he did but we needed a cm from the actual community not a 2 week streamer at launch. It’s possible aralis was more qualified and bro probably would have turned off pvp if he could. At least dawg has skin in the game.

When I shit on sv it’s based on facts. Robmo didn’t give us anything here. Or in other words wicked in the dungeon.

Hmm. Well, this is the info I have so far:

Arsas:
Does not want to ban players for exploits.
Does not enforce permabans for all but the most egregious hackers.
Does not enforce bans for funny money buying activity.
Enforces bans for funny money selling activity.
Has no oversight due to LGM Discord finally giving up on Henrik's nonsense and all previous audits by Robmo being halted by Henrik a year ago.
Hires only GM's from his own third-world country to have leverage over them.
His GM team does not use official Star Vault comms, and nobody else at Star Vault has access to their comms.

Both Henrik and Arsas are opposed to banning players engaged in RMT activity on the buying end; nobody has ever been banned for buying. Henrik cites not wanting to ban working people with no time to play.

Robmo spent 3 years auditing the GM team with Henrik's blessing and found mountains of policy compliance issues, such as them disregarding the three strike policy.

Arsas complained to Henrik and the audits were forcibly ended.

Some known Henrik shite (but true now?) also, lol at Henrik still lead devving the game:

Henrik vibe coded all or most of the non-game client and non-server meshing RaxorMesh utilities.

Henrik intentionally releases patches and content incomplete to hit certain release windows to pad shareholder reports, basically seeking short term growth and sabotaging long term profit for the company and shareholders.

Henrik actively prevents the programmers from working on bugs and other pressing issues including exploits, this has led to one of the lead programmers stepping down from their position.

I didn't like the three strike permaban for exploit concept. Like if you alt f4 for fall damage dude wants to hardware ban you? I get the argument it just never sat right with me

Injecting into the game should be perm, hardware id, all accts etc. I agree with this. We wanna perm ban across all accts hardware ID etc because someone said something racist? IDK

Pretty active debate going on in wow forever now. I never saw gold buying as a huge cheat, but i'm also willing to accept that i'm wrong on this and banning buyers is the best way to stop it.

I'm on team Arsas, but am fair enough to concede that Robmo is probably actually right.

The game does still feel like Henrik online thats not a surprise. You can tell because the game isn't fun.

A lot of systems could work if you'd just have some half brain human overseeing them and making sure people aren't totally griefing it. Trying to check and balance shit that is complex with programming rules is a fools errand.

Sounds like everyone just fingerpointing the next guy. Henrik is the only one to blame. He made the decision to be soft on cheater way back in MO1 and hasnt really changed his attitude much.
In a game such as this, where the community is tiny and the competitiveness is very high, hackers and cheater are an absolute make or break issue. Soo many people have left this game once they realize how much duping and cheating has been done and how little interest the devs have to deal with it.

Again, this attitude was set by Henrik right from the get go, and its a major reason why MO has never gotten out of its microscopic niche.

The problem with being soft on cheaters is that it encourages people to cheat, and pretty soon everyone has to do it just to remain competitive. Its a vicious cycle.

Once you lose faith in the devs, its pretty much all over. You pretty much have to be okey with playing a buggy, frustrating hardcore game knowing that a large part of players are not playing by the same rules. And nothing much is done about it. Very few people are okey with that.

At least I could play cheater buster builds like MC and mage in mo1, don't even like those classes in mo2
