You got your hometown far in the south, bank all your stuff in a northern city, don't want to track back, just kill yourself and reset somewhere else or in your hometown of choice.

Will this really be in the final build?

"Suicide Taxi" is kind of op in my opinion.

Its consequence of expanding world too much. And if u add future continents to it, you would need like actual days to travel anywhere

Why is it OP? You mention what happens - but not why you think it is over powered.

True, they should double the travel time, like 12 hours between towns at least. That way it feels like way more realistic and stuff and like that care bear 6 hours travel times /s

Lol so you're killing yourself only to get somewhere with no items. I wouldn't say op, maybe just needs a rework but seems to work as intended.

Would really like to see a rework on the whole criminal shit though. Constantly being killed outside cities with zero repercussion is just incredible.

A padded room.
The new home teleport is convenient but also pretty limited since you can only have one and you have to be dead to use it.

In the original game we only had the nearest priest option.

But it could be pretty tough on new players that go out to explore and get lost or killed.

With the home priest they can get a bit of a reset and return to somewhere familiar.

Also at the end of the day most experienced players would ghost walk or priest hop where they want to go anyways.

Yes its incredible we still have open world PvP games in 2021, btw you still can murder count and lose rep outside of towns which is weird that somehow the guards now you are a murderer when no one saw you murder.

It doesn't matter where in the world you are, a single death and with the right homepriest you travel in an instant over the whole map.

Items aren't that important if you can replace them without wasting too much time, the time spend by running or riding over the whole map is.

Suddenly it doesn't matter where you've been seen, you could be everywhere.

Your own decisions you made to get to a certain place have no weight to themselves, you softball yourself out not to live with the repercussions of your own shortcomings.

Same goes by the way for using the online maps and not memorizing the scenery or points of interest. .

I see where you are coming from.

This is how I see it, as responses to your main points:
  1. "Items aren't important if you can replace them":
    • This is Beta, skill gain is 100x and I believe things like Pigs drop a lot of extra carcass.
      • This means that it is indeed very easy to replace base items.
      • However, it takes time to build a stock pile of higher quality materials, and it will be even higher when we launch into Pesistence.
    • I would argue that, if a player has done the work to have their home bank filled up, they have earned it.
      • Not to mention - if they just warped cross map, regearing won't matter to any enemies at the previous location.
    • -
  2. "You could be everywhere"
    • Well, no. It still takes a long time to travel from a home town, across the map, A to B.
      • Yes, you could go from B back to A rapidly, but not to C, or D.
    • If a player has taken the time to fill out several town banks, so they can travel and live where they want:
      • I would argue, again, that they have earned it, and still must suffer the travel time from their home.
    • -
  3. "Decisions of travel have no weight, no repercussions"
    • Perhaps immedietely, sure. However, Persistence will get rid of rapid rerolling - we will have one name:
      • Go back to the area again. If you caused a fuss, they are sure to remember you and treat you accordingly.
      • If you cause a fuss with the wrong people, they will hunt you.
      • If you cause a fuss with enough people, word will spread of your reputation.
      • The Forums and Discord have a way of gettings news around, even if it is minor...

So, in conclusion, I don't agree. I think that the players time spent, and reputation, are enough to keep this system in check. If we could teleport between any towns, that would be an OP issue, I agree- but having one core priest, no. The cons do not come close to the pros.
