Would like clarification on 'Counter Attack'

New player here, I've asked the question a few times on discord but kept getting answers. Thought I'd try it here instead.

From what I've read, an attack(Counter Attack) after a parry charges up faster, though I don't seem to notice much difference after hours of farming bandits(am a spear user). Then, I've also been told that If you quickly press and release LMB(any direction) after a parry, the follow-up attack deals 100% damage as If it's a fully charged attack. This doesn't seem to be the case for me neither. My weapon has 90%+ durability and I'm pretty sure I've parried successfully based on the combat log.

I feel like I'm doing it incorrectly here. Please enlighten me!

Thank you!

If you do a parry, you can do a counter attack/perfect hit by left clicking (don't hold, just LMB in the direction).

It depends what combat style you've got set in the options for combat in terms of setting the direction.
I'm set to drag & click (I think), so I just have to move the mouse in the direction I want to make the attack, then LMB.

That counter attack is quicker (as you're not charging) and as far as I'm aware, will do full damage.

For clarity, I haven't tried against mobs but as far as I'm aware, you can counter attack after a parry.
