I find it amazing how SV caters to certain crowds, particularly streamers, who monetize grief caused to others through social media platforms. Personally, my opinion is that this is the worst form of RMT in the game today. All due respect to those who try to supply guides and tips which create hope for new players. The gankers who stream, we know who they are, are elevated to a protected status by SV. I don't want to be streamed by anyone myself. This could (and does) show information which could, and would, be exploited.
I expressed my concern to staff about stream sniping being an offense you can be banned over. I do not stream nor do I watch streams. Streamers do their streaming of their own free will and volition, have a delay option, as well as other means to disguise their location... Yet, SV punishes those who would take action against those who tune into a 3rd party software that is being used willingly by the streamer. When I pointed this out to a senior staff member, I paraphrase the answer, I was told 'Well this is nothing new, we have had this policy internally for quite some time. Besides, other games have this policy. And, if you are not involved in streaming, don't worry about it.'.
Truthfully, I find such a reply reprehensible. SV oversteps the boundaries on this. All for the purpose of free adverts through social media.
