Dear Star Vault and fellow players,

As passionate supporters of Mortal Online 2, we understand that the subscription model is often justified by the lack of an in-game shop. However, let's be honest—most of us don’t play this game because it doesn’t have a shop. We play it because of the adrenaline-filled, hardcore PvP and the unique sandbox experience it offers.

That said, we recognize the challenges Star Vault faces as a developer of a niche game. Maintaining high-performance servers for an open-world game and scaling development for such a complex project is no small feat. To address these challenges, we believe it’s time to introduce a well-thought-out in-game store focused exclusively on non-PvP-impacting items.

We’re not suggesting pay-to-win mechanics—far from it. Instead, this store would offer cosmetic and utility-focused items that enhance the player experience while keeping the playing field fair. This can significantly increase Star Vault's revenue, enabling better server infrastructure, more frequent updates, and stronger marketing efforts to grow the community.

Here are some suggested items and pricing for consideration:

Cosmetics and Utility Items

  1. Additional House Slot - $9.99
  2. House Skins (e.g., Khurite or Tindremic Architecture) - $9.99
  3. +10% House Storage Capacity (Account-wide) - $14.99
  4. Guild Name Change Token - $14.99
  5. Character Clade Reset Token - $4.99
  6. Skill Mastery Reset Token - $14.99
  7. House Decorations - $1.99–$14.99
  8. 30-Day +10% Glory Gain Boost - $4.99
  9. 30-Day Murder Count Reduction Boost (10% faster) - $9.99
  10. 30-Day "No Reputation Loss" Buff - $9.99
  11. 30-Day Full Broker Capacity - $4.99
  12. Guild Tabard Change Token - $9.99
  13. Teleport Token (Cooldown: 2h, Pack of 5) - $4.99
  14. Skins for TC Buildings (Khurite, Tindremic, etc.) - $4.99

Quality-of-Life Enhancements

  1. Shared Surnames Across Characters + First Name Change Token - $4.99
  2. 25% Faster Book Reading for 30 Days - $4.99
  3. Tier 4 Upgrades for Small/Medium/SH Houses - $14.99
  4. Priest and Equery for Houses - $14.99
  5. Golden Bonded Tools (Sword, Torch, Pickaxe - Infinite Durability) - $4.99 each
  6. Spellbook Merge Token - $4.99
  7. 30-Day 5% Discount on City NPC Items - $4.99
  8. 30-Day 50% Reduction on Broker Fees - $4.99
  9. Cloak Skins - $1.99–$14.99
By introducing these items, Star Vault can create multiple revenue streams while staying true to the game’s hardcore nature. The subscription model would remain justified as a necessity for robust servers and the challenges of serving a niche, hardcore community.

Lastly, let’s turn this into a collaborative effort. We invite the community to share additional ideas for items or features that can be sold in a way that supports the game’s growth without impacting PvP balance. Together, we can ensure Mortal Online 2 thrives for years to come.

Let’s make our voices heard and work towards a sustainable future for the game we love.

Anything cosmetic is viable but all the other stuff you mentioned does comprimise PvP, because all of those can be used to gain advantage effectively introducing pay 2 win mechanics.

One thing that the "JuSt SeLl CoSmEtIcS" people don't understand is that collecting rare cosmetics also appeals to a lot of people. Having a rare Sheevra house, for example, is very important to a lot of people. A lot of people DO want this game to not have a cosmetics store - to say no one thinks that is to be very out of touch with the player base and essentially destroys the credibility of what you suggest.

Cosmetics are essentially pay-to-win for looking cool.

On top of that you suggest a lot of p2w stuff. As someone who is very anti-store-cosmetics and anti-p2w, here is my take on all of your suggestions, colored by if I would support them.

Note, something that gives a player ANY advantage, even small, over another player, is considered pay to win.

Cosmetics and Utility Items

  1. Additional House Slot - $9.99 - Pay to Win
  2. House Skins (e.g., Khurite or Tindremic Architecture) - $9.99 - These should be rare or atleast just purchasable in new continent etc
  3. +10% House Storage Capacity (Account-wide) - $14.99 - Pay to win
  4. Guild Name Change Token - $14.99 - Maybe if there is a public history to look this up
  5. Character Clade Reset Token - $4.99 - Pay to win
  6. Skill Mastery Reset Token - $14.99 - Pay to win
  7. House Decorations - $1.99–$14.99 - Rare cosmetics should be hard to find/get, not buy
  8. 30-Day +10% Glory Gain Boost - $4.99 - Pay to Win
  9. 30-Day Murder Count Reduction Boost (10% faster) - $9.99 - Pay to win
  10. 30-Day "No Reputation Loss" Buff - $9.99 - Pay to win
  11. 30-Day Full Broker Capacity - $4.99 - Pay to win
  12. Guild Tabard Change Token - $9.99 - Pay to win (this is 2000g for $10 lol)
  13. Teleport Token (Cooldown: 2h, Pack of 5) - $4.99 - Pay to win
  14. Skins for TC Buildings (Khurite, Tindremic, etc.) - $4.99 - should be rare or atleast purchaseable in new continent etc

Quality-of-Life Enhancements

  1. Shared Surnames Across Characters + First Name Change Token - $4.99 - surnames were removed. Name change token I support if there is a history to look up (even just Robmo posting to discord, so its searchable, if checking someones reputation)
  2. 25% Faster Book Reading for 30 Days - $4.99 - Pay to win
  3. Tier 4 Upgrades for Small/Medium/SH Houses - $14.99 - Pay to win
  4. Priest and Equery for Houses - $14.99 - Pay to win
  5. Golden Bonded Tools (Sword, Torch, Pickaxe - Infinite Durability) - $4.99 each - Pay to win
  6. Spellbook Merge Token - $4.99 - This should just be an in-game function, not a paid service
  7. 30-Day 5% Discount on City NPC Items - $4.99 - Pay to win
  8. 30-Day 50% Reduction on Broker Fees - $4.99 - Pay to win
  9. Cloak Skins - $1.99–$14.99 - Same argument about cosmetics as above

As you can see, your lists are almost entirely pay-to-win if you consider cosmetics p2w at looking cool, which I do.

By this logic you would then agree this game is already pay to win considering the reroll token you pay $10 for is essentially allowing to skip past hours of farming xp? At this point they should just go full ahead with some of these suggestions as long as they are not too extreme and remove sub.
