There's a fairly good percentage of the community that work and have other real-life responsibilities which prevent them from being logged in all the time, so having it on a website is helpful for them to know when the next relic drop will be.

Having said that, I do think it would be good for that information to be posted on both the website and announced in the game.

This website breaks immersion. What comes next? A website announcing the respawn time of bosses?

For players like me the chance to be in the game during the meteor/relic event is low anyway. Doesn't matter if there is an announcement of any type or not.

There are timers for the relics?! Wtf is this? WoW’s Wintergrasp? I thought it was supposed to be random and spontaneous occurrences….i guess this is a “massive zerg only” content

On the flipside, it might help everyone who wants to take part in relics to plan their real-life schedule so they can hopefully get the time to do so. Rather than wishing it would happen but because it's random they may never actually get to take part in it because it never happens when they in-game. At least with this, they know for sure that they can take part.

But I get it, the immersion takes a hit.

Its not just the immersion. If it was random, than people would have to be roaming around looking for it. Whomever stumbles upon it (be it individual, small group, or large group) would have some time to try and take the relic.

Instead as it is now with a timer, people will log in the largest possible group they can and go camp the spot. Nobody will even bother challenging unless they have a somewhat equal sized force. It comes down to whom can field the largest force at that particular time. No one else will even bother showing up.

What they should have done is make it random, and then, either put a ping on the map, or a beacon that you can see from far away. That way, those able to respond the quickest would have a chance, even if they are a small force.

When its random the solo player or small group has hope they might come across it, when its static or scheduled they'll have no hope. The bigger group always wins... This is how you drive away the majority of your player base, its with decisions like this SV.

Yeah I don’t like schedules for all the reasons mentioned. It shouldn’t be something you prepare for. It should be random to promote players to play the game. Those actively playing should reap the rewards. Or else players will only log in on schedules. It has been a travesty in its current state—which only benefits the big guilds. Smaller guilds and solo players have no chance.
