Shield Penalty

Please remove the block/parry penalty when using shields. The point of a shield is to be more defensive. Punishing the player for playing defensive is defeating the purpose of using the shield. The penalty to stamina on weapon swing should remain the same as the point of the shield is to be more defensive.

What block/parry penalty are you talking about? I mean with a shield you get a lot of passive defense just from equipment hits that you dont see from other weapon combos.

Blocking/Parrying with a shield takes 10% stamina.

We can see how viable shield is after the probably stamina update. But Shield is a lot better with a the one hander buff then it used to be.

I would like to see a shield stamina buff to make them worth using.

depends also on shields weight.
I switched to 2h because to have to equip 2 items with delay sucks when you also use a bow.
I maybe turn back to 1h+shield when Towershields come.

I think the stamina cost when blocking/parrying with a shield is reasonable, maybe reducing the cost slightly will be good enough.

Having a significant force impacting your shield would place some stamina demands on you. You would need to counteract that force by pushing back hard against it and maintaining your ground without getting pushed back or pushed down.

Even with the massive stam cost, the sweet spots are also messed up for higher damage swings and arent center of targeting crosshair.

One handers in general also still drain too much stamina as they are, remove the extra stam penalty all together.

A 1.9 weight 1h drains like a 3.4 weight 2h.

This is not true in MO2, shield weight effects nothing. As soon as the shield is equiped, the weight disappears from your character.

So true. It is so much easier to spam 2h weapons than any 1 handed weapon in game.
