Some games have a system that has in game chat macros that can be used on the fly.

Planetside2 has a system of pressing V and then a number key to have you character call out ingame for heals or ammo or give thanks. Also taunts.
This allows the player to still aim, move, and fully play the game outside of switching equipment/weapons while doing call outs.

Other games use a Q and hold system that evolves your mouse clicking a menu for a quick chat feature. Notably the Battlefield series.

Right now for some people who might not be able to talk due to any number of reasons you would have to stop playing and type out all of your answers.
Some people have made chat macros to be used to type out their please for heals or purification faster but still have to stop to use the macro.

Just a simple system of having a hotkey that brings up a menu of 1 through 0 with a list of commands that will input into chat tab you were already in. With out bringing up the chat typing box to stop your keyboards inputs like movement. You can use it to guild chat that you need heals, or local chat to give thanks to a person that helped you.
