Please add back 110 FoV. 110 is the standard FoV most players use in first person games. Its is not normal to not allow it and it is very off putting to have to play at a sub standard FoV when every other game I have is is 110.

I do not care If my view is being clipped by armor or what not 103 FoV is just a poor experience. I would take clipping vison for a normal FoV

Its Extremely annoying that this is the only game that I play with out the ability to get 110 FoV. I would have fixed it and many other issue with a .ini file If MO2 had one.

I was playing on my widescreen ratio monitor while my main monitor was being repaired. Playing on my worse but higher FoV monitor was such a more natural and better feeling experience.

It's extremely unlikely the FOV will be increased.

It was lowered because the game looked extremely distorted with the higher FOV, which made all screenshots and videos look bad.

The games tagline is "The Most Immersive MMORPG".
Henrik has stated that he found it a shame that they spent so much time and effort on making fantastic looking player models and textures only to hide and shrink all the details with a too high FOV. Lower FOV makes things appear larger on your screen, especially peoples faces when they're standing in front of you.

This effect combined with the lower distortion levels makes the game much more immersive and nice to look at while playing.

As far as how other games do it, sure Mordhau goes up quite high along with Quake and some other competitive pvp focused games, however Mortal is not a solely pvp focused game, It's a sandbox MMORPG that needs to cater to all play styles. Offering a higher FOV would ensure every player has to use it otherwise they're at a significant competitive disadvantage, resulting again in all gameplay screenshots looking distorted and terrible which Henrik doesn't want.

Also, several highly competitive pvp focused games do not offer 110 FOV, with some notable ones such as Overwatch only going up to an identical 103. One could speculate blizzard made this decision for the exact same reason, that they care about how the game looks while playing it, and to everyone watching it.

I have no doubt you won't care about these explanations, but i'm simply explaining why it was done according to Henrik.

bring back 109 FoV at least, this game is played by alot of melee fighters and not only PvE flower pickers who can reduce their FoV to 80 if they want anyway. i once hoped they add 115 as 109 was the max but they reduced it instead to 103 which shows me they are not "hardcore melee slasher gamers" but balance it to nice Discord screenshots.

the argument that its bad when people are forced to play with 110 FoV is just wrong because "everyone" whos into melee combat would DIE for 110 FoV.

Yeah thats what Ive heard too. The last thing I feel is immersed when Im looking at low FoV. My IRL FoV 180 but I feel like Im looking through a small window to play the game.

The game just feels and looks wrong at 103, and unimmersive

Im playing on a curve monitor and the game looks distorted for me. IDK why Henrik keeps doing annoying things like this. It makes the game worse and me want to play less. I go play another game and enjoy normal and decent FoVs which make the game feel so much better and immersive.

@Henrik Nyström Please, 103 is not immersive. Most people feel most comfortable with 103 FoV. There is a reason why most games at least let you have 110 FoV. It looks the most natural. 103 makes me feel like Im looking through a window instead of being actually in the world. To me the picture is distorted.

Plese make the game less worse by adding bad standard game design FoVs.

Yeah its a red flag for the future of the game if they put screen shots over in game experience. Playing other games just make me upset when logging into MO2. So many little annoying things that are there for no reason. No other game even metro do I touch gamma but in MO2 I have to calibrate my display every time I log in just to see.

the fact that they reduced the FoV to 103 from 110 (was it even higher in the very early alpha?) instead of increasing it to 115 showed me in the past already whats waiting in the future.

What a surprise, Henrik putting how the game looks on videos over actual gameplay so he can attract more investors. The same reason he wont allow us to turn off shadows so ppl without a 3090 card can play properly.

This game stopped caring about gameplay a while ago.

My game looks like dog shit so its not like no shadows is going to make it look worse. I really wish they helped lower end players. Also I still have garbage frames but I really need 110 frames it just feels and looks weird. I will be making videos but the game will look like trash with my settings.

Imagine having a game where you can't disable shadows and people stupid enough to argue that "no shadows ruins immersion" and "no shadows means i cant hide in them".

People from MO1 who hated .ini editing are so scared that players are going to go and delete files again in MO2 to remove trees, bushes, etc. when Star Vault should just prevent that altogether but allow .ini editing.

I remember in the alpha when everyone could easily get 144 FPS because of .ini editing and now Henrik is so stalwart on forcing you to use his shitty low-option which doesn't even do anything but make the game look WORSE.

But hey guys, at least we're getting housing! Layered on-top of no forced war declarations, and still no water combat. Yay!
Yeah Im really immersed at all low settings and 80% render with sub 60 frames because at least I have shadows and wailing winds.

The one thing that breaks my immersion the most is just the 103 FoV cap. So annoying and takes me out of the game.

I would fix this game so much If I would access a .ini. But its a good thing the game doesnt have it because its been used by cheat engines to gain access to the game.
