It's never worked, I remember early early streams where Henrik was saying they needed UE5 to make it work but I don't think they ever fixed or did anything with it.

I don't understand, do you have a bug that allows you to permanently see in the dark with the clade? Or do you just want to see your enemies in white all the time? I'm sure you won't like that after a while.

The idea behind nightvision changed. If I remember correctly, in the beginning the clade gift nightvision should make the nights brighter. And later this changed to be able to see other players in a larger distance during night.

I don't know if nightvision is working or not. You have to verify with two players next to each other and then compare both the darkness of the night and also the distance to see other players during night.

Frankly, as long as you don't have anti-cheat software installed in the computer kernel, there will always be a way of managing brightness in a game, and even old software from the years before/during 2000 can manage brightness perfectly.

Except that it raises ethical questions to install an anti cheat in the kernel, see the debates that constantly come up in the gaminglinux community.

In the stream I am remembering Henrik said the plan for making the night vision clade work was to wait for the lumens in UE5 because if they just did it with gamma people could circumvent the clade by just turning it up themselves on their monitors. So he said hold tight and all this would be fixed with UE5.... I don't think it ever happened though...
