I can understand that SV does not want to overwhelm the players with their tutorials, but the combat tutorial provides far too superficial information and needs to be improved. This is a full loot game where you can lose all your gear. That's why it's so important that the combat tutorial is much more detailed
and much more extensive than any other tutorial. It could be distributed over two NPCs. There could be a basic combat tutor and an advanced combat tutor.
I made screenshots how the Tutorial should look like and added some
text passages, to provide Players with all necessary informations.
Default Walk/Feint should be on Q,
Overhead on E and on Side Mouse Button 1
Thrust Attack on Alt and on Side Mouse Button 2
Iteract on F and last Spell on R !
On Default Overhead Attack is bound on V and Thrust Attack on Alt and Walk/Feint on CTRL. This are the worst possible assignments !
If you cancel the attack with CTRL you need to resprint, buy you can´t sprint and press CTRL at the same time ! V is way too far away from WASD !
We need alternative key assignments, so that we can assign some actions to two different keys. Thrust Attack and Overhead Attack should definitely be bount on [Side Mouse Buttom 1] and [Side Mouse Buttom 2] by default as an alternative key assignment. Alternatively, as some players do not have a mouse with thumb buttons.
I've learned countless players how to fight and how the mechanics work, and somehow I would hope that they would already bring some knowledge from the tutorial with them. I met countless players playing for over 2 month, and not know about Comboswings !
Many new Players told me that they wouldn't have died as often, if they had been taught the combat mechanics in the tutorial correctly.
It didn't even occur to them that this mechanic existed and that the Combat Tutorial left out important information.
Without these changes to they Keybinds and the additional information about the combat, many new players will consider the combat system to be Clunky. This is mainly due to the input errors when performing overhead attacks and thrust attacks as well as blocking overhead attacks and stabs while having to turn around.

The best Settings/Keybindings to get good in Combat and reduce the Imput errors.
I watched the Steam yesterday. I made me a lot of thoghts how the keybindings could be improved to get less imput errors. The Default setting is bad. Problem 1: We need to be able to deactivate the mid and the overhead block for the mouse blocking (I will explain why) Problem 2: New Players...

POLL for "Disable overhead and stab attacks with mousemoving." Option
Most advanced Players use the Overhead and Thrust attack buttoms to perform Overhead attacks and Thrust attacks and use those Keys to block mid and overhead attacks. This would elimate possible imput errors or all the Plavers using those buttoms to attack and to block.
