So currently, stolen items can't be put to horse backpacks which forces the bandit to pick it all up and sit there for 2 minutes unable to move at all, basically free kill with 0 option to do anything about it if anyone shows up. If this exists to punish solo bandits and discourage this kind of pvp then I guess this post is pointless but I'll asume that's not the case and proceed.
First off, this penalty is imo dumb since it mainly punishes the most fair bandit pvp of all, solo bandit vs solo anyone else. If bandit wins, he's forced to sit there defenceless for 2 min just to pick up his loot and put it on his horse. This penalty can be avoided if you go into group of 5+ bandits and ride together farming solo players and splitting the loot between each other to avoid encumbrance which imo shouldn't be promoted as much as solo bandit gameplay.
So to find a good compromise since I've heard quite a few players say that it's to prevent someone just comming to you mining, killing your horse fast looting it and running away with all your stuff instantly, I propose this solution.
- Make stolen items force your horse to slow walk (just like in dungeons) for the duration of the stolen effect.
This makes it so that bandits can't just sprint off away with loaded horse of stolen loot but it also allow them to move normally in case of a fight, should someone new appear. The items in the horse bag could even for example stay marked as stolen for additional time like 4 minutes insted of 2, whatever devs deem balanced.
I think currently the stolen looting system is extremely clunky and annoying for all the wrong reasons. Yes it does serve as a discouragement from murdering other players but I think it's done in a wrong way (as it promotes group of bandits riding together farming solo players) and there must be many different ways to improve it.
