I am waiting to bump my guild post tonite. All people who wanna enjoy the game get on!! maha. But in the mean time, I'm gonna do this, put down like 5k words, have to re-log in to actually post it... etc. I got a lot of stuff to say, and I might even bump it since no one will probably read it. It's a ME thing. If I were NAJ I could put in the bullet points and make it all prettily formatted, but NO. I'll try to keep it from being a wall of text. I am going to cover every part of the game and there will be max redundancy from my other spam posts about topics. I wish I had a little wheel to spin to decide where to start!
Crafting/
Wep: There are some things about weapon crafting from MO1 that they removed. "Core" is almost all durability and maybe some weak spot chance. Iirc, you could get some nice weight from core in MO1 as well as there were cores that increased pierce damage. Wack change! This was probably because of the whole spw meta, and I see why, but (and this will be a recurring theme) there are SO MANY MATS, and VERY FEW OF THEM ARE USEFUL. You can say that for head, too, but especially for hilt and core.
I feel like the good/excellent/impeccable durability idea came from a good place ( didn't they all,) but was probably a mistake. In MO1, you had weapons that were just absolute trashtier up until almost max, and that was bad, too, but I'd like to see some bonus, whether it's fewer mats used, a little more damage, something, for being a full spec instead of a small boost to dura. I'm not sure if this is one of the contributing factors to the next topic...
Armor (and bows heh): Even though steam lists that more people have the wep achievement (maybe they have both?) than the armor achievement, the market is absolutely flooded with armor. It's all samey crap, just like the weapons. There is more variation though, like each wt class and the armor types KIND OF have a use. I dunno about Risar Soldier atm. Maybe ya supposed to make it out of skadite or something. Still, the market is so flooded with armor, and, really, bows. MA is big so that's understandable, but anyone who is coming in like I'm gonna do something on the market w/ armor and bows is in for a rude awakening. With Shortie bows (transitioning to bows, instantly!) being the meta and crepite being everywhere, they are just like 1g each. Long bows are cheap, too, probably due to people undercutting each other. A good long bow should go for more IMO! But the market wins, the mats are available soo...
Cooking/meats/pickables: Absolute dogshit. Here's an idea to at least add in 3 ingredient foods, make high tier herbs or some kind of 'between food' soften the slider if not outright multiplying, so you could have like... 25 health/80 stam. Herb Baked Springbok with Muse Fruit for instance. SO MANY MEATS, ALMOST ALL TRASH. Nothing to add to them but raw oil. If you could get the stam up, some had healing properties, something, they might have some value, but they don't, they are just inferior versions of springbok or crab. I want to juice stuff, but why? What juice has any value? Maybe in alchemy? Alchemy, btw, can't comment!
Extraction of Mobs/Resources: very sparse allocation of pickable resources and very samey mobs. There seems to be one main resource (other than wolfbrush) in areas with maybe tiny bits of another around. That sucks!! Of these resources, even fewer can be extracted into useful things. Cool for alchemists, not so much for cooks. It would be cool to see a tanning/polishing (something??) profession to turn backings/other mats and such into better mats, might help out with all of the dogshit backings and stuff like horn.
Extraction timer is too long! Remember how long we had to wait to butcher a stack, what was it like 45 seconds? I think the time to process a stack of ore should be like 10-15 sec, and if they ever add in porta stuff, then maybe double that. It's not the same game, even if you are blasting, you still BROUGHT the stuff there, you still have to spend some time to process it. Making you a sitting duck is so MO1.
I'll have to wait til the legendary thing comes into effect to give my comment on it, but it sounds like it could be cool, prol won't!
Taming/herding/leveling/beastmastery?
I feel like taming is too low. Briefly, it seems like they raised it, but they quickly lowered it. It should take 70 or maybe even 80 taming to tame a high level desert horse, since that's the meta horse. The fact that you can tame one w/ 50+lore generally is a joke. The same with CC, it should cost more CC to ride a high powered mount.
Pets should level faster! But they should level outside of town, faster! I certainly get a bunch of levels of my mounts just riding around and doing stuff. People talk about bonding to their pet, give it a fking name. When it does die you are gonna be like :*(, it's not about how many hours you sat in your house or in town watching it tick up. The horse that lived for 3 days is gonna be a big loss! And let it be 125, sheit. Keep your pets fed and watch them grow, IN THE WILD. If you have to babysit your pet, oh well, they don't aggro, people might grief them, but just have them follow you around and let them grow. I'm talking extreme difference in level speeds like 3x+ as fast.
I really feel like herding at x level should let you mount your main mount free, if they don't add a clade gift for that. That would also be helpful for beast masters who wanted to ride + have a high level pet which I think is fair. I know people say wah no need for beasts in a skill based games, but people are different. I've never done it, but I respect it. Why not? Dudes having flash backs of losing OGH sets to pets. haha, ranged pets or pets that can flip you over walls, not so good tho.
Clade Gifts:
The redundancy of clade gifts (many doubles), and some OP-ness really could be cleaned up a lot. When I suggested clade gifts, I expected much less of a bonus and did not expect shouts. All of the attribute clade gifts could maybe be better chosen as 'arrays' during character creation and be replaced with more creative gifts. There are plenty of gifts still missing: taming gifts, cooking gifts, gathering gifts (would be fun to be able to pull 10% more gathers like w/ mining,) I mean, you can go down the line, fishing gifts... gifts that help you ride better in armor/ gifts that give you dex like bonuses to riding/ gifts that let you hold heavier weps on mounts.
that and there is still no reliable way to gain clade experience other than farming certain mobs. Really bad design.
All of this could be added in to make a much more interesting and diverse char spec, even if we only have 3 hairstyles.
Mounted Combat (gonna skip the foot combat cuz nobody wants to hear my suggestions, prol at all, but esp on that)
I believe archery should go back to aim with the tip only, for both immersion and skill sake. There is no mechanic as gamey as that in any other part of combat. I think zoology bonus should be removed. I think there should be a lighter hide sort of armor that helps reduce arrow dmg, allows for a MC to be mobile, but does very little against other dmgs so that MC isn't perpetually owned by arrows, but still has to skill play to get in/out. The dismount mechanics are weird. Hitting people works, but my record now is 97 head on a mount and it did not dismount ??? so seems like that is an issue. No kd resist, either. Damage for MC is actually decent, tho swing arcs could use some love. MA can get really laggy in some situations and even v mobs, but I dunno how to fix that. Pop in and choke points probably need to be fixed, as well as node lines that drop you on the ground for a sec.
Other randos: bring back buy orders! Give us more barrels, skeles, etc, diablo like stuff to loot while exploring. The world would seem less barren. Dynamic spawns are a joke compared to what I thought they would be. I'd still like to keep alt1 and turn it into the non TC more open pvp server. Best of both worlds, separate banks and link w/ the new continents. Room for growth. If you guys ever get the game fixed and GOOD, people will come. The only reason people aren't here... it's not to do with open pvp, it's cuz the game is pretty boring and the pop is capped super hard before major lag.
Could take some of the things learned from the pvp server and apply them to the whole game. I still maintain combat is one of the flaws, too, but like I said, already spoke on that, not gonna DO IT AGAIN.
PEACE.
0 reason this game should suck!! I'm a supporter. I'm not one of those kids who has to have a keep or dominate so I want to change the balance to favor me. I just want a fun world to run around in. It's failing on that level in a lot of ways.
