This is what the kite shields and not the tower shields are made for. This not only looks wired and cut through the horse but make mounted fatmages with a cronite armor and steel shield invulnerable, if they ride away ! Magic could still damage them, but arrows can´t interrupt them and you deal no damage to the horse or the rider if you chase him !
