But why not provide a second char slot with an account wide reputation and standings system? This should prevent the griefers from doing so and people would have the chance to experiment/play with a different build.

I - for example - voted no, because I am way too soft. Loosing my beloved Avatar would result in a lot of hot tears. I will vote for a zero-death-lucasarts-gameplay-style aka ZDLAGS (tm) instead!

I hope the 1char system will help here! I don't see double moral here. Its OK to kill new players. MO is hardcore enough. But camping and permakilling new players in a frequent way will keep them away from learning the game and then they might leave. Cause respawning, get killed, respawning...
