so I had this game for years now and I really do like it a lot but the thing is the PVP players on your game just kill other players for fun and take all there shit and I really hate that it has happened to me ALOT and I'm just tired of it and I know others are too so I'm not going to pay for a subscription for me just to get ganked and lose everything but I'm willing to pay for a PVE server where we can work together fight monsters and explore your guys world is amazing and big. your mounts are awesome everything about your game is really cool BUT the PVP lol so I'm asking please give us PVE servers or at least make it when someone has PVE on they can not get hurt by rando players who just want to griff people and ruin there fun and u can put a dueling mechanic where if i click accept then i take the risk of losing everything but if I don't and kick ignore they can not hurt me and I can not hurt them.

so please add in a pve servers or some type of pve thing where people who really want to enjoy your game and explore all your map and everything cant get killed from randos anywhere on the map. or you can also just make the hole map PVE and add in a great war zone that's only meant for guild wars or stuff like that like if i played on a PVE server ill be willing to find a guild work with them LVL up and if we have a war to do and the winners guild get rewards from it ill be down to do it

bro the game is a full loot hardcore pvp open world sandbox game if you dont like it dont play but dont try and tell the devs to work on something no one is asking for.. imagine how boring the game would be if it didnt have the added risk of losing it all.. plus its not that big of a deal just regear.. just dont expose yourself to get ganked as easy, get better at the pvp or roll with more guys. thats what make this game good.. you just have to persist.

yeah its good for u griffers who just want to ruin the game for other people and yeah theres a big fan base that want PVE not just pvp and you can still lose all your shit on PVE with full loot drop on death and give it a time limit to pick up your stuff and if u dont get it in that time its free grabs for anyone.
i bet your one of them people who gank people for no reason and take there shit even if there just picking flowers and the game would be boring to you because u wouldn't be able to ruin peoples game anymore
great example my friend and i are out but naked picking bush's and stuff just exploring and randos come up to kill us while we have noting! thats just dumb! or i was fighting a boss zombie almost dead and i get ganked from the back because some ass hole wants my loot and the easy kill thats not ok but for people like you thats what you want

It sounds like you more so are after a themepark style MMO, rather than a sandbox, which is fine - But MO is not that type of game, despite both MO1 & MO2 becoming quite hand holdy during both their development. You should have realized this when looking into buying and playing the game.

The game does need more incentives for players to not just KOS majority of the time, but it's a combined issue of too much time investment for basic tasks, not enough activities for players to get dopamine hits regularly and just generally not much for players to do, outside of kill everything they see.

SV is incapable of figuring out how to balance grind vs fun, gear fear vs accessibility and player interaction vs inaction. So your only bet is to join a PvE guild and try your luck in Ape strong together . People also kill nakeds, because people try to pretend to be just a harmless old naked out for a stroll, meanwhile they have 10,000 gold up their butt.

At least MO1 had unique personalities that carried the political landscape in MO1, with slightly less hand hold mechanics than MO2. MO2 has some very bland personalities and politics, makes the flaws in the game stand out a lot more.

no i want a open sandbox PVE server and its possible the only thing the devs have to do is focus more on there AI making them able to raid base's and stuff like that and make events where people can go can fight together
or just keep the game the way it is and let me stay in PVE mode and not be able to get ganked by griffers or who ever and if people want my shit they just follow me and wait untill i die

bro you couldnt be more wrong.. im not a griefer at all. yh i agree people who just constantly grief are cringe but to act like everyone is a griefer is just dumb bro.. theres literally more pve in this game than pvp i feel.. it only ruins your game if you allow it too.. your complaining about getting killed in the most obvious spots griefers will look to kill ez prey bro.. the mainland isnt going to be your personal safe space bro that just sint what the game is.. everyones been through getting killed by other players even when you aint got shit on you.. its just part of the game.

I'm afraid you may be playing the wrong game, there will never be a PvE server. There is more chance of thievery coming to the game than a PvE server.

On the subject of griefing, about 95% of the players I meet out in the wild and in dungeons are just regular folks out minding their own business. You stay out of their way, keep your distance, don't say or do anything stupid, and chances are they will return the favour, and you'll make it back to town intact with all your belongings. I know this because I spend most of my time out in the lawless areas doing PvE or travelling between towns.

Sure, you'll meet the odd player or two on rare occasions that want nothing more than to gank you for fun or for loot, or both. But that's a given in a game like MO2. If you can't handle that as a bare minimum, you are definitely in the wrong game, I'm sorry.

when im doing missions i shouldn't have to worry about getting stabbed in the back by some rando like they got a PVE mode setting for the game and while im in it i should be safe from PVP or getting stabbed or shot in the back by some rando and its not fun to work for 20 hours grinding to lvl up and get stuff and work hard to get good tames and some high lvl person walks along and kills me takes all my shit and kills my tame and i lose everything when i didint even engage in it thats not ok and it ruin's the game and if u say it doesint well thats your opinion. to me and others it ruin's the game and makes it unenjoyable

im not playing the wrong game because i stopped playing the game since i was always getting stabbed in the back and losing all my shit every time i couldn't progress because there was always someone there like if i died by AI i don't care if someone looted my loot after i died idc. if i willingly engage in pvp and lose and die idc but if im doing a mission minding my own business and then get killed by some rando walking along or waiting untell im low health to get that easy one shot kill then yeah i care and its 100% BS and shouldn't happen and it happened all the time to me
like keep the servers the way they are but when im in PVE mode leave me in PVE mode and make it that i cant died from rando waiting to kill me while im low health or anything

That is why there are banks in every town so you can store your loot when they're not immediately needed, so you don't need to carry 20 hours worth of loot around with you.

You also shouldn't get too attached to your items, if you can't afford to lose something then best not to take it around wherever you go. Learning how to craft your own gear using readily available materials is your ticket to lessening the pain of loss.

Again, that is not what this game is about and never will be. The devs have stated this in absolute terms, there will never be a PvE server.

i cant stash anything in the banks if im getting killed b4 i get there or while im trying to get loot that's the point i know not to carry 20 hours of stuff on me or a shit ton of gold because i will most likely lose it all and i know u can buy stuff from the market and craft my own stuff or get it from loot but i shouldn't have to worry about losing my stuff every second im on or out in the world doing missions. I could spend w/e stuff i have left on gear and lose it 2 seconds after because some person is just waiting for me to leave and that's not fair

and besides all the the devs would make more money for this game if there PVE setting really worked like pve and other players cant rando kill you unless u engage in it also

A case of bad luck, then. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens to every player, and they learn to pick themselves up, dust it off, and do things differently next time so they reduce their risks. The ones that learn how to turn the tables on their attackers and have the last laugh are the cream of the crop.

The devs are not in this business to make the most money, unlike others. They're in it because the CEO has a vision that he will pursue with stubborn determination, because it's his vision. No one has been able to change his mind, not even the community.

🔥💍 The One Toggle to Rule Them All 💍🔥

Reading through this thread, I can’t help but notice a certain… irony.

For years, Star Vault has been notoriously addicted to quick-fix, toggle-switch "solutions"—the kind that break more than they fix, slapped onto problems they strangely barely seem to understand, even though they created the game… and the problems.

Their track record speaks for itself:

🔘 Need to “fix” blues using AoEs to reveal hidden greys looting player inventories at the bank?
Flip a toggle.
Now all AoEs require criminal status. Problem solved!
(Except now the justice system is even more broken than before.)

💀 Want to “fix” the “lack of” fast travel options?
Create a suicide toggle.
Now dying is a convenient (as opposed to a merely exploited but not totally convenient) fast-travel feature. Problem solved!

🔴 Need to “fix” the endless ganking at Jungle and Cave Camp?
Flip a toggle.
Now the red priests are blue. Problem solved!
(Except it wasn’t. At all.)

🏰 Need to “fix” reds strolling around blue towns like they own the place?
Flip a toggle.
Now they’re technically attackable. Problem solved!
(Except, you know, they still own the place.)

Every single time, it’s the same lazy, knee-jerk approach—just flip a switch and hope for the best.

And yet… against all odds… they’ve resisted the most obvious toggle-switch fix of all time.

Think about it—SV never met a half-baked, one-size-fits-all "solution" they didn’t love.
You need only whisper "just flip a switch", and they’re already frothing at the mouth, ready to break the game in whole new and exciting ways.

But somehow, somehow, they’ve spent years carrying this particular switch like Frodo hauling the One Ring through Mordor—sweating, struggling, whispering to themselves,
"Not yet… not yet… we must resist…!"

And yet, you know that switch is screaming at them:

💡 "JUST PUT ME ON. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
💡 A SIMPLE TOGGLE—PVE SERVER—AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED!"

And it would be so easy for them to cave. So on-brand.

And yet, against all odds, they’ve somehow resisted the most SV-like solution imaginable.

❓ Why?

Who knows.

Maybe it’s pure chance.
Maybe it’s sheer dogged persistence.
Maybe they’re just saving it for when they truly run out of ideas.

But one thing is certain:

If they ever do flip that toggle, it will be the most on-brand, off-the-cuff, game-breaking SV change of all time.

And we will all be forced to admit:
🔥 It was inevitable. 🔥

💍 "One toggle to rule them all, one toggle to find them, one toggle to break them all, and in the darkness… grind them." 💍

I can just see it playing it out actually:

Somewhere, in the shadowy halls of SV, huddled figures whisper to each other, even as we speak here on the forums.

In hushed, anxious voices, they ask,

“They… they know about the toggles?”

A lead designer, draped in a tattered We Do Not Nerf PvP hoodie, nods grimly.

“They have always known.”

Casually examining the Toggle of Ultimate Doom, he turns it in his fingers, tosses it into the air, catches it, and smirks. Then, turning to the others, he proclaims,

“This bauble has no hold on me. So let’s give it to someone addicted to quick fixes and with poor impulse control instead.”

Everyone nods at the wisdom of this pronouncement. The Toggle of Ultimate Doom is ceremoniously handed to the youngest amongst them—the junior programmer, fresh out of university, usually tasked with making the coffee.

He blinks in confusion, clutching the toggle like a sacrificial offering.

But in the darkest corner of the room, illuminated only by the flickering light of an aging MO1 server, one figure remains motionless.

Its wide, gleaming eyes caress the Toggle of Ultimate Doom—the PVE SERVER SWITCH, a terrible power that has lain dormant for years.

"Yesss… yesss, my preciousssss," it whispers, a fevered gleam in its eyes as it watches the lead dev covetously, waiting for its moment to pounce.

“But not yet, Smeagol… not yet…” it mutters grimly to itself. “They must not suspect….”

A programmer shifts nervously.

“We can’t hold them off forever. Maybe we should—”

A sudden silence.

The head of design slowly turns, eyes glowing with a terrible light.

“Banish this fool.”

A pair of developers grab the unfortunate soul and drag them off, their muffled screams fading into the distance.

Silence…

Then, at last, a voice tentatively suggests,

“Perhaps… if we rename it?”

A collective murmur of approval. Yes, yes, brilliant. Just call it something else. A clever name, something that sounds immersive, thematic…

📜 The One Toggle
🏔 The Journey to Mount Carebear
📜 The Tindremic Treaty of Safe Spaces

One of them shuffles forward, clutching an old, yellowed piece of parchment.

“Here, this might do… I found it buried under a stack of old MO1 notes. It’s labeled… ‘Trammel.’”

A horrified gasp. Someone faints.

The ringbearer clutches the Toggle of Ultimate Doom even tighter.

"No… no, we must resist… for now."

And thus, the cycle continues.
