Greetings Mortals,
Last Thursday on October 20th at 7 PM UTC Henrik hosted his regular weekly stream over on Twitch.
Sebastian our lead programmer returned this week to co host another server stress test stream with Henrik, as we confirmed a fix we had made to remove a major server bottleneck was working as intended.
The stream has been archived on our YouTube channel, with some handy chapters and timestamps in the description!
The Improvement was a success
Last time we had over 530 people gather together outside Meduli, and the server nearly grinded to a halt with several second delays on most actions due to this greedy bottleneck.
This time however with the new upgrade, the server didn’t even break a sweat! It handled hundreds of people being in the same area with no issues. We can safely support several hundred player battles without worrying about the server nodes keeping up and doing their part.
Now that we have made huge leaps with the network side of things optomization wise, the next area for improvement will be further improving the performance players have with hundreds of our highly detailed characters on screen. Although we are quite happy with the performance here already, we do have some great ideas for how we can make it even better, so stay tuned for further updates in this area in future patches.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Mortal Online 2 or a newcomer in the world of Nave, dive into the vault with Henrik on Thursdays at 7:00 PM UTC to get your questions answered by the CEO and game designer.
See you in Nave,
