Stream Sniping Policy for MO2

1. Introduction

“Stream sniping”, or the act of using someone else’s live stream to gain an unfair advantage in game, undermines the integrity of gameplay and the community experience in MO2. This policy outlines the steps we take to monitor, confirm, and act upon stream sniping reports to ensure fair play for all.

2. Reporting and Monitoring

Players who suspect stream sniping can report the incident through our designated reporting channels. Once a report is filed, our team will monitor the suspected player’s behavior for potential stream sniping activities.

When submitting a report, please provide as much information and evidence as possible. Contributing evidence could be:

  • Twitch Clips
  • Timestamps in archived VODs
  • YouTube videos
  • Screenshots
  • Other similar items along with detailed descriptions of what you suspect has occurred.

3. Evidence and Confirmation

We are committed to providing a fair gaming environment, however we also understand the complexity in proving stream sniping beyond a reasonable doubt. As such, we cannot act without the oftentimes substantial evidence required.

The following considerations are key in our evaluation process:

  • Random Encounters: Random encounters, especially in popular locations like dungeons, do not alone constitute proof of stream sniping.
  • Direct and Repeated Tracking: Evidence suggesting a player consistently and directly tracks a streamer across the game world may indicate stream sniping. We analyze the suspected player’s movements and actions compared to the streamer’s. Clear patterns of targeting the streamer, particularly when the streamer is moving unpredictably, are stronger indicators of stream sniping.
  • Player Behavior Analysis: We analyze the frequency and type of interactions between the streamer and the suspected player(s), taking into account whether these tend to occur always or only when the streamer is online and broadcasting.
  • Recurring Events: Unless a case is particularly blatant, we may need to rely on building a collection of evidence over time in order to take action confidently.

4. Actions and Consequences

Upon confirming a stream snipe, the following actions will be taken:

  1. First Offense: The player receives a warning and a temporary 24 hour ban from the game.
  2. Second Offense Onward: The player will receive a strike on their account.

5. Commitment to Fair Play

Our goal is to uphold a fair and enjoyable environment for all players. We will continue to refine our policies and monitoring techniques over time to best address issues such as stream sniping to maintain the integrity of Mortal Online 2 and your experiences in our game.
