1 keep = 1 territory (some of the proposed territories have to be redrawn)
16 keeps = 16 territories
20 outposts = 20 territories (they talked about splitting up some territories this could be any number)
This will lead to a few positive things:
- Owning a keep will make it worthwhile. This is a concern that has been raised during this new TC revamp/addition.
- It will merge the current TC system with the new system and not make it feel like 2 systems on top of each other.
- It will add some depth and variety to the system. Outposts = easy to get easy to lose . Keeps = hard to get hard to lose.
- Create some stability to the system. Every territory not switching status every 4 hours.
- It would make more immersive sense. Imagine owning a massive castle but then you have to take control of a much smaller wooden structure to get control of the lands?
If the current keep sieging mechanics are seen as unfun or not working as intended then they could be changed to be more like the outpost sieges but have a higher declaration/investment cost. You bring catapults , ballistas and oil tents and you break all the doors/gates and fight inside the castle walls in a more open space than the outposts. It can have the same flag raising mechanic as the outposts as well.
Overall I think this would make the system feel much better and work better in the long run and for other continents as well.
