So it appears this going to be up for a vote again. So I ask how can the thieves vote on the game if they are not subbed waiting for thievery... His response..

So....looks like It's never going to happen, they want people who can't play their chosen class to sub to the game just to vote to maybe get their class..... Crazy...

I've explained time and time again that a voting system is idiotic when most people can only see what is good for them in the short term.

This results in people just voting for selfish purposes, and not for what is good for the game; voting for what is good for the game is what is good for the long term.

There are three key archtypes to the fantasy genre: The Warrior, the Wizard, and the Rogue.

All "classes" in fantasy come from these three fundamental archtypes:

Warriors are often in armor and use melee weapons; they're not stealthy, but direct; can be tanky, but can also be damage focused.

Wizards are spell casters, whether that be channeling the divine or using magic; so healing, damage; they are frail casters.

Rogues are your stealthy, swift dexterous assassin/thief characters, often using light armor for better sneaking; sometimes they're also archers, like Robin Hood.

Mortal Online 2 has NO real rogue class. I'll explain why.

Yes, you can use a dagger; but you can't truly sneak. Wear light armor and you'll just lose in melee due to having inferior armor. You don't even run faster in light armor; so there is simply no benefit to wearing it as a melee user. Please don't tell me a veela running around in steel armor with a dagger is supposed to be a rogue. It isn't. Where is the stealth? Where is the low armor and higher agility that comes with it?

Archery is atrocious, and it can be used in heavy armor, thus making it usable by the warrior archtype with no downside; and again, giving no real reason to use it in light armor. There is literally no benefit to wearing light armor and using the bow. It even scales with strength... Like.. Come on. Try to play an archer in light armor and you'll quickly find yourself vastly outmatched. So again, we find that the rogue archtype doesn't exist in exchange for the warrior.

So; there is NO rogue/assassin archtype in Mortal, despite it being a fundamental to the genre. There are literal genres based around this style of play, and for some reason SV still have not tapped into it..

Why? Because of a vote? A vote whereby you can literally downvote things... Which is idiotic because of course, those who aren't intending to play the rogue archtype will naturally have a reason to vote against it. Why would a dedicated mage or warrior want people picking their pockets? It only serves to make their game more difficult..

99% OF PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE TO MAKE THE GAME HARDER FOR THEMSELVES. People are like animals. They are selfish. They will not think far enough ahead to see why thievery is actually good for the game.

SV need to stop using votes to determine the direction of the game, because people are idiots. If you need evidence of this, there are still people saying tower shield mages are perfectly fine. If that doesn't tell you how stupid a significant portion of your playerbase is, i don't know what will.

It just boggles my mind why they dont jump on this. The rogue style of play caters to the solo player which everyone is screaming from the rooftops that this game doesnt have and is why they left... The rogue/thiefs "ARE" the counter to the zerg, or at least a piece of the counter... Imagine a group of 10 people actually having to be cautious because one rogue might be lurking in the shadows somewhere...

VOTING for something evil is the most imbecile decision ever.... THIEVING MUST be added, and thats it. Period. No voting !

Because, of course, the majority of people will say NO.
Who wants to be stolen ?

Its the same as voting for PKing or for "full loot"... The majority will ALWAYS say NO.

But the RISK is what makes a good game !
The game needs PKs and Thieves.

If you want to relax, go read a book.
Mortal Online is HARDCORE !

Just add THIEVING for christs sake

What's funny is being stolen from was completely avoidable in MO1 if you put things in a heavy bag that could not be lifted by a thief. They make a giant deal about how thievery would be the end of their world and they have no clue how it worked...
