Booby traps, or traps in general for NPC and Players will add a lot of diversity. Dead falls, explosives, bear like traps, etc. They all could be seen with the naked eye, however no more than in real life. Some would kill on contact while many would trap( traps only last maybe a little while for players but longer for NPCS). Bushy or dark areas would make them harder to see. Dismantling traps could come as a secondary skill to 'trap' skill. \
Poisoned blades add damage over time and SOME may not stop and kill without antidotes made by alchemy. The life long poisons would have to be harder to make and the ingredients would be harder to find(like a blowfish that rejects getting caught).
The fact that plate armor clinks and lighter armors do not make much noise makes stealth more realistic. Dyeable armors at a cheap price can make people harder to discover and target to see their names. Maybe with proper face covers and such could make names that wouldn't appear and no murder count could be made. That means maybe making a detective class that identifies murderers and adds them to bounties with a skillset that has HIGH rewards for taking the time and effort to identify murderers with a better bounty system. A detective taskmaster could make this worthwhile. This may require bodies to remain for a while(Like UO) while NPC's and random NPC travelers can give added taskmaster tasks with 'clues' to where a NPC merchant died(the merchant is worth killing for loot and it would give the red players more to do or hunt them).
There's so much more you could add to the 'subterfuge' class. This is just something for people to think about and maybe contribute to and starvault to dO? I dont know.
