All i meant is that there is ways i can think of to defeat a bear. You can use herding and Cougars to rush enemy tamer and their damage will outdamage the bear coming for you. You can Mounted Archer it. You can use a Dire Wolf with a Horse, dire wolf attacks enemy player and player Mounted...

I have already beat a bear 1v1. There is lots of ways to do it. Mounted Archer is easiest way. Or Mc to kill Player and then kill bear when it is afk. If you want to duel i will but what kind of armor and weapons do you actually have to offer? I like dueling high risk high reward.
