    Anything that is an easy target gets wrecked in Fabernum, not just guildless solos. It is a hot spot for very seasoned players to come around and just mop the floor with people. As soon as you can I advice you move south if you are getting killed a lot. Just get a solid steed, make sure they are well fed, grab all your belongings and leave. That whole area is a mad house.

    If the servers were not so bad right now, you would see more townsfolk of a good nature - such as myself & my company.

    However, yes, Fabernum is a roughneck area - being just across a small valley from the lawless town of Kranesh. As others have said, if you are struggling, it is probably best to move to another location.
