Greetings Mortals,
Join Henrik & Sebastian on Thursday October 20th at 7:00 PM UTC for his weekly stream over on Twitch, where they will host another large scale player gathering to test our new server improvements!
Results of Our Last Test
In the week before last, Henrik had Sebastian our lead programmer come on to co host the stream while he live monitored the server performance as over 500 players gathered around Henrik in game.
The results of that test allowed us to locate a significant bottleneck in our server code that was causing delays when very large groups of players were in the same area.
Our talented programmers have since implemented a fix which will be in the patch this week that should completely eliminate this bottleneck as well as allow some nice upgrades that you the players have been wanting for a long time.
Gather in Meduli Again This Week
To verify it is no longer present, Henrik is once again inviting all inhabitants of Myrland to gather outside Meduli during this week’s stream.
We will be hosting this second test in the same location as last time for consistency, a short walk East outside Meduli. This location is perfect for these tests, as it is a large and relatively flat area that is also close to another node line.
Henrik will be streaming his location during the event so it’s easy to find him.
We would like to thank everyone who participated last time and helped us identify the bottleneck, and we would love to see you return once more so we can confirm this huge improvement is working as intended. Our internal tests are very promising, and all going well this upgrade should allow us to increase the render distances of things like player armor and animations.
Although we are very confident that we should see a significant improvement in the server performance with lots of players around, there is still the possibility that we hit a new bottleneck during the test. As last time we will be monitoring the server live during the event, gathering valuable data that allows us to see any parts on the server that are working harder than others.
Henrik will also be answering lots of your questions in his usual Q&A as well as giving away one free steam key for Mortal Online 2 during the stream, so be sure to drop by and enter the giveaway!
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Mortal Online 2 or a newcomer in the world of Nave, dive into the vault with Henrik on Thursdays to get your questions answered by the CEO and game designer.
We hope to see you there,
The Star Vault Team
